What is the difference between 64 bit public build & regular 64 bit?

What is the difference between 64 bit public build & regular 64 bit? One says beta +  in DIM the other not. Both are dated the same day.

    One is release build the other is beta; atm no difference as they are at the same version.

    ... But beta is often likely to have stability issues, but offsetting that disadvantage, the addition of  extra features and/or bug fixes.

    latest public build lets you play with new features before it is released inthe final version :)

    Currently they are the same, the beta is mainly useful for having two different versions installed. It may well be that we will get a new beta, with new features, as a test before the release build is updated.

    Thanks. I installed the Beta on my new computer with a 1080 ti, but it keeps crashing while I'm still setting up a basic scene that was fine on my CPU only laptop and Mac. Why is is this happening if they are the same?

    Presumably settings, in the OS or in DS (or maybe in security software), or it could be a driver issue.
