[SOLVED] Daz is crashing my machine!

I've been spending time over in the Nivida forums trying to debug what is going on. If interested you can read it here Anyhow, After lots of trial and error that involved removing 6 gigs of ram to stablize my machine since it also crashed while idle, I have deduced that Daz has an opengl issue. I have the newest driver and newest version of daz. I dont know if there is a beta but at this point I am willing to try. I cannot work on my webcomic with daz constantly crashing on me. Please help.
Edit: How I solved it. I had mismatched ram, that I removed. Then, because the system had such a drastic change I reiinstalled Daz and it's been sitting ready for me after 2 days. Thanks for reading and have a fantastic day.

If you had to remove RAM it sounds as if you have a hardware issue, rather than DS having a (general) issue. There isn't a different beta, but it seems unlikely that using a beta would help.

I read (most) of your Geforce forum thread. Your problem isn't software, and definately isn't specifically Studio, given that the computer won't wake up and you had to pull ram. Also sounds like you have a mismatch in your RAM sticks Have you considered that your opengl problem may be that Windows 10 updates could be giving you driver issues?
I only have 1 8gb ram stick in my machine now. I can run any other app besides Daz, leave them idle all night long and even restart them as often as I like.I've worked in Blender all day yesterday, leaving it idle so I can pick it up at a moment's notice for a few minutes of work. (its how I have to be as a mom I need to work in quick bursts) But if I try to do that with Daz now my machine crashes with a KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED exception in under an hour, sometimes within 5 minutes!. My system is now stable, no more fresh boot idle crashes or dark screens unless I run Daz.There has to be something wrong somewhere with Daz that my system just doesnt like. My install of windows isnt that old and I would hate to redo it after I got it the way I wanted it.
Also, I run Advanced System Care by IObit weekly to keep my machine running smoothly/ But I doubt if that has anything to do with it.
In another thread you said you had 8Gb, 4Gb and a 2GB stick in a motherboard with 4 memory slots. In many mb like that the 1 and 3 slots and the 2 and 4 slots form single memory banks and really wants memory stick of the same GB size and speed.
well, yes, that was before I was instructed to remove 6 gb and my computer has been happy ever since, I suppose I was wrong to slap just any old ram that fits in there. I learned my lession and will next get a comparable 8 gig ram stick.
Here's a handy guide to determine what is (probably) compatible with what:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/
You can enter your motherboard model, for instance, and use the utility to see what memory sticks are compatible. It also lists vendors and prices -- really handy, and I've found it pretty reliable. Hope that helps!
Thatsa very nice little tool, frankturtle but that doesnt solve my problem as to why only Daz crashes my machine now. I admit I had some issues but solved them. My machine is stable now, I can run Blender all day long yet when I try to do the same with daz I get BSOD error with the KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED error.
It appears that KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED is a fairly basic system issue - drivers would be the obvious suspects. It may be that there is a fairly arcane issue that Blender happens not to trigger while DS does.
And one of the issues that throws it is a memory access violation caused by bad RAM, or a bad driver.
the driver being bad, I can belivebut I think my ram is good. There's been no other issues unless I run Daz. No crashes or anything, my windows is now 99% stable, the 1% is daz studio
Is it possible that, as you had the RAM problem, the problem marmalised something in your current installation of DS. so how about uninstalling it and then re-installing a fresh copy, to see if that sorts things out completely.
I wish I could export my settings, I have a lot of content directories I wonder if I can find the ini or whatever file
I saw that on a google search and had no idea what to do with it I took a chance, made note of the directories, saved the app data of the daz 3d folder and used the DIM to uninstall and reinstall., deleting the package for a fresh download. The configuration remained unchanged so I didnt have to tell it where the public folder has been moved to nor did I have to restore anything else so im good there. So Far Daz has been behaving.
However, I left it up while I was at work with a saved file and returned to see it still there. But last night before the reinstall I had to turn off my maching when it refused to wake up. it was running for like 24ish hours and I started up daz to make note of the directories and where it saved the app data. Then I closed it down and went to bed.
As I siad, I made sure to leave daz up and running after the reinstall with a saved file like I always do and it has remained up and stable. I will edit or reply any updates depending on posts or time.
Edit: 2 days and still stable, I guess I got it licked. Thank you for all your help!
