Quick question about Zahara Hair 2

Hi. I was just wondering if I could ask a question to anyone who happens to own this hair. If you have time, could you post an example of the *softest* round look this hair can be given? I've bought a lot of afros over the years and I'm not a fan of the ones that look 'sharp' or with a lot of stray hairs. I'm looking for one that can appear round and fluffy wihout much postwork (any fans of my art know why), and I'm just curious if this one has that option.

Thanks very much in advance.

I'm doing a couple renders now.  Will post when done.

Here is the Zahara Hair 2 front and back.  There is no way to get rid of the little spikes that stick out.  I dialed down the 'spikes-fun' as low as they would go, put the softer transmap option on it, and and dialed a bit of the 'thin-soft'. When you look at the hair in Surfaces, the hair is just one material zone. I was going to look for 'spikes' and turn off the cutout, but you can't. And the hair has some ringlets built in, so even if you get rid of the spikes, it's never going to be just a round 'puff' as we know it. The hair suits my purposes and has a lot of style settings and adjustments, just not the one you need.

I put a lighter color on her so it would be more visible.

You're welcome!  I really love the hair and all the options, so it was an instant buy for me, but I do understand where you're coming from.

This hair was made as a loose afro. If you go on the street after a long day .. your hair will not look as you just came out from a beauty shop. Not perfectly trimmed. There are many afro styles around, with sharp cut look. This is not that type of hair. There are severeal hair shape includes, you can see the promo images.

But if you want a smoother look, there is another transparency map included and 3 transparency strength option. For example this is an Iray preview I attached, made with the 2nd transparency option and soft transparency strength.

The 2nd pic use the default transparency and strength but use a style which is total different as the default shape. This hair is more hair in one pack, because you can't find too many hair in the market which includes this many different styles, even updo with band :)

And as a bonus, If you have problem with any loose strands, just make a render, circle them and I will provide a morph to get rid of them. But note ... the other morphs will be still different, because those morphs are not just move here and there and style a little, but most of them change the strands very drastically.

As I stated, I used the Trans 2, dialed the fun spikes all the way down which made it less spiky, and dialed in some thin soft which also helped.  But you're right, this isn't the absolute round 'puff' with no spikes that she was looking for.  I got it the best I could using the presets and dials.

How would your morph work?  Are you saying the circle drawing would be in postwork? If so, then how would a morph work in postwork.  I'm confused....as usual. LOL

I never said that this hair wasn't of good quality, it looks to be very versatile and detailed. I just was looking for a fluffy one for my character and Sapat gave me good examples so I could make my decision. I currently use the ancient Alicia afro and use a custom Photoshop brush to fill in where it's a little thin.

I'm also a guy, but the assumption I'm female doesn't bother me.  :)

Sorry, English is not my language :) So I meant ... if you don't like those loose strands, create some render, on the picture draw a red circle around them - which strands bother you and I will make a morph where I push them back.  Or I can do that push all loose strands back. But again ... it will work with the base hair mostly, because some morphs move the strands away ... or for example the style 2 is total different, so strands are moving around and which was on left side in the main style, it may be on right side in stilye 2 morphs :)

There's been a sudden influx of new African themed hair styles in the past 2-3 years, and it was overdue.

You might want to check Hellboy's Big Afro hair as well. It has a number of options, too. But no hair wrap option.

Yeah I actually have Hellboy's afro. It's good quality but didn't work out for me. They absolutely must be soft and fluffy for me to use them, lol.   :)

oh, sorry I overlooked your post. "Little" late, but if you may still need ... I meant .. you make a render, on the render you show me the issue and I will make a morph to get rid off that unneeded part and you can use that morph in the future to remove those strands. However those strands are not at the same place in every morphs so it is working only with 2-3 of your favorite style settings. Set the hair, send me the hair style preset, I will set mine too and make you a fix morph if needed.
