I missed getting a 1070ti for $98
in The Commons
I was on ebay and suddenly, a 1070 ti GPU popped up for $98 with shipping, as an immediate buy, guaranteed protection. The listing said it was someone in Florida who just needed it sold quickly. I clicked on Buy but then my phone rang, and by the time I was off the call, it was sold. I have been kicking myself for days.

Sounds too good to be true.
That person couldn't find someone to borrow $98 bucks from so they sold one incredibly sought after piece?
Anyone that would have that video card- knows better - and would have better resources.
I hear you, and that's what I'm telling myself. But the other side more gullible of me was like, "For $98, take a chance and if it's a scam get the money back from ebay."
It could also have been a typo, and they wanted to list it for $980 or $598 or whatever, and then quickly removed it themselves when they saw their mistake. I've seen that happen before. Hell, I've done that before myself (luckily removed it faster than a buyer could grab it).
But yeah, otherwise, I'd be really really suspicious of a $98 price tag.
Doesn't Ebay have buyer protection in case of fraud?
Yes, in this case it was a buyer-protected listing which is why it was tempting. But I've never had to actually use it so I don't know how good it is...but again, I figured "I might get ripped off for $100, or I might get an amazing deal on a GPU." I wouldn't have considered it at all without the buyer's protection.
