Tatum Hair. Why?

JOdelJOdel Posts: 6,322

It seems that lately every time I try to load a female character I get a callout asking to install Tatum Hair.

I've got Tatum hair. It's already installed. The character I'm trying to load isn't using it. Half the time, I building a new character file, and I'm loading the base figure which isn't using any hair yet. Two thirds of the time I'm reopening an existing, saved scene, and Tatum hair is never a part of that file.

I don't use, or have DIM. I don't use connect. I don't use smart content. Why is Studio suddenly convinced that Tatum hair is needed for everything?

Check the end of the logfile (Help>Troubleshooting>View Log) just after getting the error.

Will do that. Should happen the next time I try to open a file with a G3 female in it.

Opened a file and got the error message. The hair is indeed listed in the log, but it was never used in that file. I don't think I've ever loaded that hair in any scene.

It was listed at the end of a bunch of temp files, though.

I finally went hunting, and sure enough, even though I know I installed that hair, it wasn't in the data folder. So mystery solved.

Still don't know where the file actually is, since I did install it. But it didn't land where it belonged. It's there now, so probably won't give me further issues.

But why Studio should make such a fuss about a hair that I'm not even using, I don't know.
