I liked it pretty well when I tried it. Decent digital sketching and painting program.

...looks like it's primarily for tablets and touch screens.

    ...ah well.

BTW I often go by Autodesk's new offices here in Portland.

It works with Wacom tablets like Bamboo too. I know it runs on Windows 10 at 64 bit.

...but what if you don't have a Wacom tablet? Will it work from a pointing device like a trackball or is it still "touch dependent"?

I cannot use a Wacom because of my arthritis.

Like every other drawing software out there, pressure sensitivity requires a tablet but you can draw whatever you like with a mouse.

Thanks a lot for the heads up.

Do not forget to check Sketchbook Extras (under Windows menu).

There are a lot of freebies to download there (brushes).

I've been using the paid version of Sketchbook on Android ever since the days of my Toshiba Thrive. It's my favourite illustration on any platform. It works really great with my Samsung Note Pro and pressure sensitive stylus.

As Agent Unawares said it will work for you with mouse but your lines drawn will look more 'computery' because without pressure sensitivity they will be all the same width and be drawn drawn the same direction. Still that is very good. Also if you have Android or iPhone tablet Sketchbook is there too and works with touch. Touch on those devices isn't pressure sensitive.

Does it work with a touch screen laptop?

The download page on the SketchBook site for the non-W10 version must be taking a hit, as it doesn't even load for me at the moment

...yeah may skip the offer then as the reason I gave up traditional art was advancing arthritis.  I no longer have the sensitivity in my hand or steady grip to use as stylus.  I also do not have a touch screen or tablet to just use the fingers (which can also be quite painful at times and not as precise).  Already have Gimp and Krita.

Gimp absolutely can too. I have literally been using Gimp all day with my Huion. It may not accept all 2000 something levels of pressure but it definitely uses levels of pressure. You can even set it to use it as controlling thickness of lines, or opacity, or both. Edit to add: Both 2.10 AND 2.8 worked with it.

Great find. Thanks for the heads up.

Since no one has responded, I need to ask again, has anyone actually been able to access SketchBook.com? All I can get is a blank page in attempting to access any of the pages on that site. No 404 errors, nothing, just a blank page. Am I the only one who has experienced this? I even tried logging in to my AutoDesk account and accessing it from there - nada.

Yes I downloaded it yesterday. Just tried to go and it's loading fine for me...

Thank you for responding FWIW. I don't normally run into stuff like this, but it seems as though my IP must be being blocked or something. Don't know what is going on. Maybe I'll try shutting down and restarting to see if that solves anything. Thanks again.

Update: Still do not know what the problem was. I had to use Chrome to access the site, which had no problems whatsoever. But I.E. simply couldn't access it for some reason.

I've run across this occaisionally.  I can't access Shift Art from Firefox since the last update, it won't recognize my log in, but I can access it just fine in Chrome.

I don't see why it wouldn't.  Can you use Photoshop or Gimp with a touch screen?  It should work just the same.

...well aware of that, usually use them for simple postwork.

Yes, it does! I use it on my touchscreen laptop, with a bluetooth pen and it works great

There is an iPad version, as I just found it.  What is different with it than regular computer version?

I'm not sure about the IPad, but I do know that the regular version has a lot more options than the Android version for my Samsung tablet, so I imagine the difference is similar.

I have it installed however it refuses to let me sign in to use it more than seven days
Despite me easily signing at the main Autodesk website.

    Oh well.... uninstall frown
I still have the scaled down version ony android tablet.

So it's a 7 day trial membership? I have the old 6.4 Pro version if that's the case...

I haven't looked into this, but I believe the Autodesk ID is free - you just need to register, in effect. Of course they will try to sell you stuff, but resistance is not futile.

    I have the free ID but it's not been 7 days & they didn't mention a trial. I guess I don't understand wolf359's problem.

Thanks for pointing that out Artini. I didn't notice those at first.  Before installing these,  I was thinking the program might not be something I'd be into other than the mirror drawing and perseptive options. With the brush options..... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mine seems to be the full program....not a trial as I don't get the sign in or trial screen anymore. I wasn't able to create an account in the program...even though it said it was saving the info. I had to go to the website itself to create an account before sign in or trial option went away upon opening up program.
