dForce Bunny Outfit for Sakura 8, Hide Ears and What Female Character is This?

Can you hide the bunny ears on this hoody, even if going into the surfaces tab and using the cut out opacity option? Or are the bunny ears attached to the hood as one object where if you use the opacity function both the eaqrs and hood will be invisible? https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-bunny-outfit-for-sakura-8

Also, does anyone know what female character was used in the new Z Essential Emotions - Poses, Partials and Expressions for Genesis 3 and 8 product? Below is an image. https://www.daz3d.com/z-essential-emotions--poses-partials-and-expressions-for-genesis-3-and-8

You can make the ears invisible using the Surfaces tab (Note: there are three surfaces involved, that work on both ears together.)

  • Thanks, dragonfly_2004. Just another quick question. I'm assuming yes, but does the hood also come all the way down? In the promo pictures it looks like the hood is always up or possibly half way down in some of the images.

Short answer: No, the hood does not drape as expected.

There is a "...Hat Move Back" slider under "Actor", which you combine with dForce to make the hood drop to the back. This is just the slider at 100%

(EDIT: I'm running simulations now, but so far only the ears drop with dForce, using the dForce presets included with the outfit. This will need more testing, as the hood does not drop, even with adding dForce Dynamic Surface Modifier. Even selecting the neck and head of the jacket, to tilt the hood back AND making G8's head invisible did not get the hood to drop back much more. Disappointing.)

Thanks again, dragonfly_2004. Dang, I was worried that might be the case. I think the outfit looks great, but getting hair to fit in that hood is just going to be a hassle. I think I'm gonna get it though anyways.

There are extra surfaces on the hood where you will need to adjust the settings to have dforce have the hood go all the way back. I will try to find my test file and make a render.

Thanks, AlmightyQUEST, that would save others time (and me smiley).

Richard John S, the jacket does have other hood morphs, that may allow it to be adjusted to fit some hairs.

Ok, main surfaces I adjusted are HatBase, HatEdge, and HatLabel. By default their dynamics strength are set to .60, I upped them to .95, then turned the edge surface back down to .80 to try to keep it from collapsing completely. I also upped the collision offset to .30 to keep it from looking like silk or something. It still doesn't have quite the "thickness" that I might want, but I didn't spend much time at all with the settings so can definitely be improved. It does get the hood down though! smiley And if I had put hair in, I would have just kept it invisible for the simulation. I used the hat back morph to get the hood away from her head in the first place, so it just dropped straight down. Definitely happy with it, but also can make it even better with some more material tweaks I am sure.

One caveat, not sure how it will simulate without the ears, since they seem to be pulling it down a bit. If you make them invisible I think they will still pull, but not sure if just setting their dynamic stength to zero will make the simulation ignore them, or if it will "freeze" them in place. Will try that later.

Very handy to know AlmightyQUEST. Thanks!

Your settings work well enough for me on the hood... once I sort out settings for the ears, as you pointed out wink

    Regards, Frank.

EDIT: Set Dynamic Strength for ears to 0.93 or 0.94 (three surfaces: BunnyEar Base, etc), as 0.92 is not enough and 0.95 is too much.

  • Thanks a lot, AlmightyQUEST! I would have never figured that out.

That female character is Lydia by Maelwenn.  At least the texture.  The morph is something else...  Charlotte with some dial spins?
