What happened to the feet surfaces option?

Hi,

Working with Genesis 8 Male, wondering how one would hide the feet in setting up a conformer that needs them hidden in order to look right?  This would be for a product so it's not just for my personal use.  Is there a way to set it up in a Pose preset or where would I make this happen.  I need the entirety of the feet hidden along with the toes and nails.

Thanks much

Richard

Shut off the nodes related to the feet in the scene tab.

You can create a property preset to do this automatically

Hmmm, not seeing what I need. Would I find these options under the Other tab and if so where would these options be?

yeah and break it for use in Carrara in spite of Misty's fix angry

because thats what everyone using only DAZ studio is intent on devil

if anyone does it they should at least list it on their sale page so Carrara users don't waste their money

(speaking to PA's in general not you RAMwolf)

    Sorry for not explaining earlier.

To set up a property preset to hide certain nodes, first load the figure and shut off those particular nodes.  Please make sure its JUST the base figure with no morphs enabled and in its default pose.  This will make life easier in the next step.

When you go to save the preset, deselect the first three tabs, on the fouth tab and check the "Include other options..." box.

Finally, if you have ONLY changed the visablity settings as suggested above and NOTHING else, then you should be able to go to the options menu in the upper right, go to "Check Only > Check All Modified Only" and that should select for you the visablity for those nodes.

Before you hit accept, make sure you do not compress the file.  If you need a second property preset to to turn those nodes back on, it will be quicker to make a duplicate of the DUF file in your file explorer and rename it.  Then open up the duplicate in a simple text editor (I recommend  Notepad++ if you are using Windows) and do a search and replace to change one word.  If you search and replace the word "false" with "true" and save it, you will now have a second preset to turn the nodes back on with out having to do it manually through DS.  While the first preset was easy to do, the second would take longer in DS since the default for the visability on those nodes is ON.  You would have to manually go through the figure tree to select just the few options you want and that would take a lot longer then just doing it in a text editor.

Thanks so much MattyManx.  I really appreciate it!  Hopefully I can get this new idea working.  I'll need to figure out how to transfer the rigging to the new figure and then stretch out the foot bone down and then the toes bone into the other bit (hoof) only hint I'll give right now!  wink

OK, another question then.  What if I want the body morph, head morph, feet visibilty and the leg positioning's to be all done in one fell swoop?  I imagine with this sort of tabbed dialog it would be possible.  I'll play with this and if I run into an issue I'll post.  Thanks again!

Good to know you its all working for you.

The property preset is the most robust preset available as you can save a lot of info in one instead of seperating it in to multiple presets

Totally cool.  BIG thumbs up to DAZ 3D for this!
