I think Infinity War is out, is anyone here going to see it? I am thinking of seeing it tomorrow. Or did it just get released and that might be a bad idea?

Never a bad idea to see a Marvel Movie, LOL Yeah, it gets released on Fri, so good luck getting tickets, or even just good seats.. I have plans to see it Monday, try to avoid some of the crowd. I am kind of bummed already though knowing that it will be a cliff hanger as it's only the first part and I hate to be left hanging
Oh wow, Infinity War! Marvel is my favorite fandom right now ^_^
Due to a medical condition, I can't see movies at the theater, I have to wait for them to come to Blu-Ray and/or digital download. I'm really hyped for the movie, I just have to wait 4-8 more months more for it :(
I'd love to hear how it is, though. I love spoilers, and I especially love the gifs people put together, since that's all I can see right now. I've got a pretty decent idea of how Black Panther was, so I think I'm all caught up for it.
Does anybody here like spoilers too, or just me?
Already seen it two days ago.
I just saw it tonight. I am not sure how I feel about it. Many things happened. Some of them have irritated me. Some of them were not surprising.
here you go, spoiler alert!
I saw it last night, and it was basically what you expect from a Marvel movie.
Stan Lee makes his usual cameo. Because there are so many super heroes involved, some don't get much screen time, and I found myself thinking, "I wish we saw more of so-and-so."
I won't spoil it, but one thing I will say: don't forget there's an extra scene after the end credits.
Well I don't know what happened but I've already seen 2 very disappointed FB posts about the events in the movie. I read some rumours about what might occur in the movie last week but it doesn't bother me having read many comics.
I've lost my interest in comic book movies. I don't have any feelings for the characters anymore. I've actually walked out of the last 3 before the 1st hour, despite having paid extra for 3D. Thinking that I'd watch them on TV in six months. I never do. All I see in those movies is angst, and fights where you're not quite sure who's the bad guy. Not my cup of tea anymore. Plus, I'm too old to be turned on by hot looking men in tights. My hormones & juices don't flow like they used to.
I tend to think that this genre of movie has reached the stage where its "jumping the shark".
Saw it last night and don't have a single bad thing to say about it.
All the (minor) issues I had with some plot points in previous movies all make sense now.
Another Marvel movie, another Star Wars... it's like the joke about Madden or FIFA being the same thing, deja vu all over again.
Also, if you have God-like power, why you invading Wakanda? You may as well invade Russia because that's easier (Napoleon & WW2 joke intended).
They were saying that whoever gets killed, they'll just bring back via an Infinity Stone at the end of the next one.
In any case, it's all going to be reset with a new actor in a new reboot anyway. (How many recent Spidermans? lulz.)
The kids will be saying, "OH MY GOSH, YOUR OLD PEOPLE STAR LORD LOOKS SO CHEESY AND OLD!"
I thought the reason for this was fairly obvious.
Just saw it this morning with my kids. Best Marvel movie yet IMHO. Now to be fair, that is like saying the Return of the King is the best of the Lord of the Rings movies. It can't really be judged on it's own because it is the final act in a larger series. This is the first part of that final act for the MCU. 10 years and 18 films in the making mind you and that is pretty remarkable when you think about it. The amount of planning and consistent level of quality that has been brought to this entire series is just astounding.
And what a rollercoaster ride this film is. Relentless pace, great action set pieces, lots of crowd pleasing moments, surprisingly funny and above all really emotional. My kids and I were in tears a few time. I also think Thanos beats out Killmonger for best villian yet. Honestly I have been overwhelmed with emotions about this movie all morning and can't wait to see it again!
Thanks, that's really helpful, I appreciate it! ^_^
. .
I saw it this morning. I give it 6 out of 6 Infinity Gems.
I saw the new Spiderman movie last year and while it was OK I found it annoying how the actors are beginning to all talk and use body language like those Disney budding teen half hour serial shows.
You will not find that type of talk and body langauge in this movie. The Russo Brothers know how to direct a movie. They are God's in the MCU!
The amount of planning and consistent level of quality that has been brought to this entire series is just astounding.
Yeah, it's the same response when everyone complained about Star Trek's recent reboot (The Chris Pine movies)
As opposed to WHAT?
Superhero movies languished in the pit of horrible movie ideas you should never think are going to be good.
What was the first good one? Spawn? Then Blade opened up the Marvel universe and actually made a good movie, but it wasn't really a 'Marvel Universe' movie.
And no, many years later we're seeing FANTASY Movies being made...my gosh, I'm not cringing at the franchise and parents have something to do with their kids and it's a closeted culture that the world can finally share.
All for different reasons. Nerds can read their paper and digital comics and do their super-square thing and arguing what isn't true and accurate and delight in their obscure knowledge and factoids.
Casual-types can play Halloween and cosplay in the same skimpy outfits that sell so well here, in the Daz store.
Black Panther was a kick in the teeth to a lot of people.

This movie did a very bold thing. A very risky thing that could pay off like Empire Strikes Back did.
But, so something this big with so many moving parts- something so big, you can't please everybody - I'm glad for what they didn't do....
Which is try soo hard to say so much with characters that are ALREADY ESTABLISHED they avoided the Star Wars minefield and the current paper comic's diversity swing.
Battlestar Galactica the reboot changed a bunch of genders and ethnicities....
Lost in Space has a female Dr. Smith. Haven't seen it, have no idea how workable that was...
The Marvel movies seem to be the last bastion against subversive twists and bad-ideas. lol
They did so good though. It's 10 years in the making up to this point. There really is not one MCU movie that i didn't like. I myself is a comic book reader from the 70's 80's and early 90's. I stopped for a long time. Just till recently did I start going back and checking out certain stories I missed. Yet most of those have been off the main stream.
To Add, the new Lost In Space is pretty fun.
Except it is NOT the final act, as the story continues.
Actually, I thought it was drivel; and insulting to my intelligence - and others too I presumed.
I'm happy to suspend disbelief (I'm a fan of most scifi, fantasy superhero movies etc); I'm not happy to suspend my ability to think too.
I also think Thanos beats out Killmonger for best villain yet.
Best Villain is tough- they really didn't make Killmonger much of a villain- sort of like Dr. Octopus and Sandman....victims themselves...sorta....
I liked/hated Kevin Bacon's (with the Magneto coin ending) character or Red Skull....
Trying to think....

I know this latest Marvel one worked on me because I have true anticipation for where it goes next. I can't wait.
So many loose ends and points I want to see addressed.
I used to feel that way about Star Wars movies. I might not even see Solo.
Spoiler Alert:
Loved the movie except for the end. I also missed if there was a end credit scene because of miscommunication of when my ride was coming.
I would like the ability to do Nebula in pieces like that for G8F.
I did not like what they did to Black Panther. I wore my Black Panther shirt instead of my Loki shirt. I hope it is like what happened with Batman vs Superman and then what happened with Justice League.
I particularly like that statement.
And as for the new "Lost In Space" I'm having to force myself to watch the episodes just to see if it gets any better. (I just finished episode #6) But if I make it to the final one I'm pretty sure I won't want to start the next series despite any possible hook. What's wrong with it? The science sucks. They've turned Don into a rogue. Dr. Smith makes me want to drive spikes into her throat. And there are way too many angry people in the rest of the colonists. The series is too dark. But the robot is cool if not a bit threatening.
On the topic of Dr. Smith. Nobody could replace Johnathan Harris, his brand of camp was unique, and it's what made you accept his Dr. Smith despite his shortcomings as a human being. But I think they've overdone the more realistic malice in this new Dr. Smith and we could never come to accept her.
At least your t-shirt character was in the movie... I wore my Hawkeye shirt.
I enjoyed Thanos as a villain, he was surprisingly sympathetic.
And I loved Peter Dinklage playing a giant!
But now we have to wait a year for part 2 . . . .
Peter Dinklage was great. I loved those scenes!
We saw it last night, and wow, I don't think it ever stopped to take a breather. Like any movie, some parts a great, some are a little meh. More Thor, less Ironman, please! And I couldn't stop examining the makeup job on Thanos' female henchvillan, as she was so cool looking.
I'm spoiler-phobic when it comes to movies I'm looking forward to, so the ending was a suprise to me.
