Mocap Online - Victoria 8 walking - Anybody has this?

Hi guys,

I wrote on here over a week ago and didn't get a response. So here it is again.

I bought an animation product called

Walks Animation collection for Victoria 8 by Mocap Online

https://www.daz3d.com/walks-animation-collection-victoria-8

But I have no idea how to this properly. It doesn't seem to be inserted onto the animate2 timeline as aniblocks.

Is it supposed to be like this? I have no how this works.

Thanks

Winton

I get a 404 from your link but if it does not say aniblocks it is probably an animated pose

under People, Genesis 3 female poses

Oh ok, so you can't put these animated poses onto the animate2 timeline?

    Try it again.

no they say they are poses in the description

you load them like poses on the normal timeline  and DAZ studio will most likely ask if you want to add more frames

So really what you are saying is these are for poses for your modes not animations?

I have the Ambient Moves Volume 1 which says pose too but they are animations. I just opened them in Animate 2 to try them as I happened to have Genesis 3 in a render. At the bottom left of the animate 2 window there is a button which opens the file browser. I went to Posermocap/Genesis 3 Female/Ambient moves and clicked on it and it added the blocks. Dragging them to the Time Line and clicking on Play made them work for me.

According to the description they are animations and the Read Me says they can be found in: “People:Genesis 8 Female:Poses:Mocap Online:Walks Animation”

Pose Preset Animations are another way you can save animations in DAZ Studio. You get around some of the problems with AniMate. The PA went with a format that will work for most.

So, how can you make it into an aniblock? Is it possible?

Should be possible. I haven't done it from  preset animation. But load it on the timeline and follow the instructions on how to make an aniblock from this: http://www.gofigure3d.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=63&Itemid=75

This may help as well: http://www.gofigure3d.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=92&Itemid=86

Wow. Old thread. Someone just sent me a link to it.

Well, in case anyone (or even the original poster) wants to know the answers:

Yes, that's an excellent walk set for Geneis 8 Female, but will work on any Genesis 8/8.1 figure.

They come as animated Pose presets (so to load them, go to People > Genesis 8 Female > Poses)

I prefer to work using aniMate 2 with aniBlocks. I can mirror, change timing, edit the animation before commiting it to the timeline, etc.,

(I do this for All animations I buy that come in as "Poses")

So the first thing I do is:

    • Load in a base Genesis 8 Female
    • Load the first animation from the collection
    • Go to the aniMate 2 pane
    • Right-click in a blank area of the aniMate 2 window > Create aniBlock from Daz Studio Timeline
    • Direct Copy works well, but I think both do... so I usually jutst leave whatever is auto-selected in this following pop-up
    • Play the animation in aniMate 2 after the new aniBlock has been created to make sure it copied properly*
    • Right-Click on the new aniBlock > Save as New

It will automatically take you to the "aniBlocks" portion of your Daz 3D library. In a case like this, I create a new folder for the artist's name "Mocap Online", then inside that folder make another new folder called "Wlaks for V8" or whatever, then save the new aniBlock in that folder under the same name as the animation in the Pose directory. But you can do whatever you want here. Just keep in mind that Being able to find them when you're looking for them years later is what we're after here. Think ahead and make good decisions!

    * It can ocassionally be the case when we try to create a new aniBlock and something weird happens to the animation. In my experience, don't even try working with it after it fails. Save the time and just:

Select the figure in the Scene pane, right-click the Timeline pane tab > Clear Animation > Clear Figure Pose

Now load the animated pose again and repeat the Create aniBlock process as decribed above.

Don't worry when this happens, just move on and try again. It's fairly rare when this happens.

There's a whole lot more to know about aniMate 2. Check out my webpage on The Power of aniMate 2

Also of note, these translate beautifully to Genesis 9 using Bone Minion or other method of converting animated poses.

Bone Minion Rocks in that I can load aniBlocks directly to the Bone Minion, then transfer the whole animation to the selected generation - I go back and fourth through many Daz 3D generations, so I have most of the Bone Minion products and will eventually own them all.

In the case of Havanalibere animations that come with Breast motions, those transfer nicely using Bone Minion as well.

If you try it and it doesn't work, it's likely because the breast motions are Torso pose control morphs instead of the Pectoral bones on the rig. When this is the case, load the Heavyweight Bone Minion instead - it transfers morph values in addition to the rig's joint roatations, etc.,

    Hope this helps
