Looking for skyscraper which could have been built in the 30's as new but has aged a bit. Anyone know where I can find one? I am wanting to make it my Daily Planet Building.

You know some people are gonna' tease you about the "year". Just a friendly "heads up".
As for 1930s type buildings, CyberTenko offers one, probably the most iconic aprat from the Empire State building and the Chrysler Building. The central tower from Fritz Lang's "Metropolis". However, beyond it being a recognized "entertainment property" recreation, the structure seems insanely huge for a newspaper headquarters, well, at least in my admittedly biased opinion. You, on the other hand, may consider it perfect.
Sorry, I won't link it as D*Z will no doubt "zap" the shortcut to a competing store. But you should be able to find it easily enough.
Sincerely,
Bill
We do not "zap" links to products when someone has specifically asked for ideas. We only "Zap" unsolicited off site Commercial links. You have not even given a link to the site, so are not really being helpful.
Red's being helpful enough. I know where to look now. :)
Thanks, Redfern. And I corrected the year. :)
Urban Sprawl 3 has individual building props. Building 02 has a 1930's look. I show Carew tower from Cincinnati which was finished in 1930's as a comparison.
Looks like RKane has a different opinion on the matter.
Anyway, for others interested, here is the link to the item.

Probably not tall enough since you said skyscraper, but there's a nice art deco hotel building at Rendo: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/deco-hotel-poser-amp-obj-/69972/
Interesting. I'm currently working on a futuristic building that is at it's core an art deco style building. Unfortunately between finishing it up and getting it approved for sale, it won't be out until May, so this is probably of no help to you. I just found it neat that my active project is something someone is actually looking for right now, heh.
I'll wait. No rush on this project. The taller the better.
The default will be lobby (1.5 floors) + 3 floors, full interior, with the scifi elements as wearable props (so folks can leave them off if they prefer). It will be modular, so you can stack the middle floors as high as you like.
It's intended as primarily as a more intimate environment (hence why it has a full interior), but I'll add a prop version with no interior that's much larger for exterior shots or backgrounds. Hopefully you'll be able to make use of it!
Ditto that.
In the meantime, could you use, Movie Sets, City Block 06 by DreamlandModels over at Renderosity. One of tyhe building on that block has a very Art Deco look.
This sounds amazinng. Even a low poly set to use it in the background as a destination to point at in the distance wiould be awesome. I never figured out why aren't there like some basic building... building blocks to kitbash city scapes together from. Aah well. :)
Joe, that would be PERFECT! ... but I don't have $199.00 to spend. :(
That sounds awesome. I was interested when you mentioned interiors, but the optional scifi features, customizeable height, and exterior only prop means I will definitely buy it when it's released.
Yeah, me too. It's on my wishlist though.
If you plug your email into the front page, you can get a free sample kit. I got a selection of models from the Victorian Kit. Don't know if it's random.
..using that in a new scene. The details are somewhat reminiscent of this building in Milwaukee WI.
Cool! Good to know. Thanks, Joe! Ya came to my rescue AGAIN! :)
There are tons of freebie 3d models available in: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/?hl=en
The only problem is to get them nicely transferred to Daz Studio.
Below is an example Daz Studio iray render of three buildings:
Guardian Building by wyliepoon, Art Deco skyscraper by sketchy and Penobscot Building by wyliepoon
...yeah, and as I understand you now need the pay version of Sketchup to get access as well as have decent modelling skill to fix all the errors like backfacing polygons, ngons, & such.
Speaking of the building form US3, having a little fun with it (WIP). The building photo I posted (Wisconsin Gas Main Offices) has a light on top shaped like a flame that lights up at night.
I like it!
... thanks.
3DL work so lots of spotlights on the building. Converted some sections with the Geometry Editor to create separate surfaces for some more texture additions.
Beautiful stuff. Anything you can share? :)
That is very cool looking!
...just how I set the lights up.
Converted the faces cupola on the top and the ridges running up to it with the Geometry editor to create new surfaces. Then simple applied a blue colour and cranked up the ambient channel. For the "beam" I used a combination of a Uber Area Tube light and a cone primitive with opacity turned down and ambient channel turned up.
For the light accents on the top section and the Deco details, simply placed AoA spotlights shining upwards (in the case of the cornices also one pointing downwards) set to a narrow beam focus (about 30% n the top portion and 20% on the cornices). Still have a few to add.
Also used the geometry editor on the "columns" running up the sides, then applied one of Eva's Urban shaders (concrete block) to them as well as changed the colour to darken them a bit for contrast.
I have since added more to the "skyline" in preparation for the next elements of the scene.
Indeed the building in Milwaukee was an inspiration. here is what the real one looks like at night.
