    Or something. No access, so all this is just speculation. However, once y'all get it licked on technical side, it'd be fun if you could tell us a roundabout note of what went wrong, so we could have a giggle or render contest a la "digital hamsters were eating our cloud" or something?winklaugh

    Consider yourself lucky if it's only half an hour. I used to see the new store pages within 10-15 minutes after DAZ midnight; it's been getting steadily worse over the last few months, by now I frequently have to wait an hour or more before the last of the swirlies resolve into actual stuff DAZ wants us to buy.

    That said, I haven't been bitten much by the 404 glitch (yet) — only a handful of dud pages in the last day or so.

    I keep getting them on my iPad. Doing a backward slash or using a private window doesn't work. I do all my shopping on my iPad, so haven't checked my computers yet. Can't even see what's in the Aiko 8 pro bundle. But I can see individual items so I have to guess which ones are in it. Not getting the bundle anyway most probably because I prefer some of the addons to what I assume is included in the bundle.

    I think I have the 404's beat. Let me know if you see any more starting tomorrow (you may have some old pages stuck in your browser's cache) or if you see ones in incognito/private browsing.

     

    It appears to have been caused by a security patch (applied about a week before the 404's started popping up) changing some code that was a second cousin (by marriage) of some other code that was friends with yet some different code. This caused some additional validation code to trigger on pages that didn't need any validation code to run and instead of returning 403 (not authorized) it decided that 404 (not found) was the correct thing to do. Since this was a security patch and keeping our site secure is the number one priority I couldn't just roll it back and tracking down an issue that seemed to randomly pop up on different browser sessions on different computers but would be fine for other machines was a tricky one.

     

    A thank you to all of you for sticking with it and finding work arounds to get by while I got this problem solved.

    Thank you for the update! I'll definitely keep my eyes open for any further errors, and I'm sure others will, too.

    Coolness! Thanks for the update, I will keep my eyes on it tomorrow! Will clean cache and all just to be sure that everything is fresh and keen!

    Ok, that I understood, but ... instead of seeing 404s we shoudl have been seeing 403s instead, so instead of 'not finding' the page for us teh server decided we were not permitted to view it?  I hasten to add that's not a rant, just amused bemusement!

    I'm still getting occasional 404s, but nothing close to what we had in March. A reload now loads the page correctly.

    my uploaded files be it images or zips often vanish and reappear 

    as do those in other people's posts depending on who is getting flared

    I got a 404 at around 1:00 PM Daz time, when following an email link (Sale email from Daz). I did not bother with a work around, as I can try again later.

    Having said that, I find that this happens so often now, that I rarely follow up on the 404 affected pages any more.

    ...actually got one last night looking after clicking on the Subway Car from the email newsletter.  When I went to the store page and clicked on the item, it opened fine.

    Yeah, the page reloading solution works now. It didn't work back when this thread was started--keep in mind that this is quite an old thread, and things have been mostly fixed since the original post.
