Painted Reflections, Where?

Okay, I don't care if you want to point and laugh. But I'm not using Iray, and I'm not aiming for photorealism. I just want to get the job done.
Up through Genesis 3, character morphs and presets usually came with optional painted eye reflections which could be applied. They were interchangable. Once again, I'm talking about 3Dlight. I wouldn't know from Iray.
With the new eye geometry for Genesis 8, G3 reflections do not apply to a Genesis 8 figure. Or not with a simple click the way they will for G3.
And, looking through my library of G8 figures, NONE of the ones I checked come with optional add-on eye reflections.
Is this no longer possible with Genesis 8? Or are vendors just no longer doing it.
Is there a way to apply G3 reflections to G8's eyes, or am I stuck going the postwork route? Conversely, does anyone know of a G8 character that does come with painted eye reflections for 3DL?
It may seem ridiculous to buy a character for its eye reflectons, but if they work for one character they should be applicable to other characters from the same generation, and that's all I'm asking for.

Why not use real raytraced reflections instead of the fake ones? Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but it's pretty straight forward to make nice raytraced reflections in 3DL, and they look so much better in my opinion.
I use a lot of V4/M4/Genesis 1 skins, and when I load one, the first thing I check is if the iris has those terrible painted on reflections, can't stand them, LOL.
...yeah for my two girls at the bus stop it made them look like they had cataracts so I just went with the ray trace reflections instead.
At a guess, the painted reflections might be on the eye moisture surface. In G8 this surface was removed from the cornea and only covers the sclera. Try copying from the eye moisture to the cornea surface.
Sounds like G8's new geometry broke it. Ah well. In a lot of cases I can just leave things to generate the reflections from the light set. But when the face is in shadow.. No reflection can be seen. Okay, do it in post.
Thanks all.
Uhumm, not true, actually! Sure the eyes still reflect even if in shadow. I guess you mean specular highlights, which is a different thing altogether. Just put a primitive sphere or plane in front of your character, set ambient to 100% (or more if you set limits off). Convert the surface to UberSurface and check Fantom, be sure that Ray tracing is enabled, and it will be invisible to the camera but reflect in the eyes.
Hm That's interesting. Thank you.
And, yes, I probably did mean specular highlights. *sigh*
Jodel, twizted has a set of eye reflections (specular highlights) that are mapped available at the Rendo store. :)
If you found some reflections to get them to show up try putting them under cornea in the surfaces tab in the Opacity Strength slot and turn up the slider to 100%. Your reflections should show.
Thank you both!
ETA: well, foo. They're Iray. Still. Thanks.
