Little Pastry Shop PROBLEM!!

https://www.daz3d.com/little-pastry-shop

It's an absolutely gorgeous set that i was about to use today, only to realize that in a shop of delightful baked deliciousness, not one single baked good came in a single prop version, only in rows/trays/displays. I can't separate one out, turn the rest invisible, etc etc. How can anyone interact with the set? How can a server help someone to a donut if it can't be picked up? how can some pose with a cake or snap a selfie with a muffin?  How can anyone EAT in that place, much less shop? If you can't move or use anything, even if the set has lots of details, it is pretty nearly just a backdrop image... I'm really really disappointed. I had a lot of plans for this bakery (as places like this are all over where I live, and I spend peaceful tea and coffee breaks there). If there's no way or no update to use props individually, gonna have to get a refund :(

Not a solution for the set, but this product has some nice bakery props.

I have a free cake available (link in my signature). It's pretty nice if I do say so myself...lol. I was planning to use it with the bakery shop too. There are some milkshakes as well.

Your milkshakes are the bomb! In fact, all your freebies are top shelf quality. I've paid good money for stuff that I would replace with your freebies (or at least move them to background, since I love crowding stuff into scenes).

Oh my gosh, I got to finish my kitchen so I can use it again.

You could use the Geometry Editor - try clicking on one of the pieces, then press cmd(Mac)/ctrl(Win) * to select connected polygons - with luck that will select a whole cake and nothing else. If it selects only part of the cake right-click, Geoemtry Assignment>Create Selection set from Selected, call it "Cake" (or anything you like), then click on one of the bits of cake that was missed last time, cmd/ctrl *, right-click>Geometry Assignment>Assign Selected To Selection Set>Cake (or whatever you called it), repeat until the selection set Cake includes the whole of one cake, then in the Tool Settings pane click the + next to the Cake selection set. Once you have a cake selected, however many clicks it takes, right-click>Geometry Visibility>Hide Unselected, then right-click>Geometry Editing>Delete Hidden. That should give you a  single cake prop - File>Save As>Support Assets>Figure prop Asset, enter somethign like My modifications as the product name so you remember in future that it isn't all your own work, and save it. Relaod the original tray of cakes and repeat for a different item until you have what you want.

This is unfortunate as I have this set and had in my mind how I wanted to use it.

Oh how disappointing. I’d probably return it. I wouldn’t want a ship  of goods that doesn’t have the option to have the goods as props.

Thank you, Richard! I was looking for this for an entirely different group of items yesterday and couldn't find the answer (though I do have the Little Pastry Shop too).

This will save me a lot of grief (and time) today :-)

Shaara Muse / Holy Wonderworld and Exnem make some delectably photorealistic baked goods and other foodstuffs at Renderosity. I buy food models wherever I find them on sale, but the ones that get into my lead characters' hands are the ones with bite morphs/versions. You can make it work.

  • thanks for all the tips guys. I want to clarify, as I ended up using sweet temptation set which I already had, that i was not lookin for buying more options. My disappointment is that the set did not include single props, making it highly limited. It would seem like a highly logical thing to include a single prop of everything as there were already multiples. I have coffeeshops- more than one. I have bakery counters-more than one. I was just hoping to be able use the props. Richard came closest with his geometry editing advice, but ultimately, I don't want to do the extra work for something that i feel like should have been included already.  Of course you can add other baked goods but they won't match what's in the store, so i just wanted to give a heads up. Maybe the vendor in the future can update the set. Or at the least, have single prop versions included in future sets. It's pretty essential IMO.

I agree.  Excellent items and free!  Thank You!  Those milkshakes are outstanding, I've heard they bring all the boys to the yard.

I so agree. The posts are very helpful but I also find it shortsighted to not include single props. I have no desire to buy additional food items which probably wont match. Kind of silly imo

Oh I was going to buy this set next month, but now that I know there are no single props I won;t buy it.

It looks like a beautiful set, maybe the creator will read this and update it. It's definitely on my wishlist for now...
