RESOLVED: DIM vs DAZ Connect :(

Hello,
I've experienced something odd and wondered if anyone out there had experienced the same. Not sure if this is ticket-worthy just yet.
I used DIM to install some items. When i moved into DAZ (it had been closed so it's a fresh open), I noticed that some of the items wanted updates and some of the items simply did not show up as installed at all. When I updated the items, one still remains as showing that it needs an update. I'm in the middle of installing one of the items that did not install at all.
I'm using DAZ Studio 4.10.0.123 but had experienced the 'eternal update' issue with my previous install of D|S.
Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions? Lately my experience with the help desk have not been very positive (two items are still outstanding after 2 weeks) and after changing my email address yesterday, the support history is gone completely.

Update: I may need a ticket unless there is a quirk with DAZ Connect and DIM about which someone can educate me.
I just went to use one of the items that I had installed with DIM. It is showing in my Smart Content pane (with the update indicator). When I right clicked to 'install update' the option is to install, not update. Weird. My DIM shows the item as installed.
I thought this was an error in DIM's setup but the issue is not an all or nothing problem. Some items do get installed via DIM and I can select/use them from the Smart Content pane.
Strange .. and frustrating. I'm needing to install items twice. Do these methods of install not talk to each other or at least handshake so one knows what the other did?
Exactly, these methnods of install doesn't talk to each other, if you use DIM, your smart content will not be smart
I use DAZ connect for all content and updating them, and DIM for some plugins, Hexagon and Daz studio software updates
That's very disappointing. It seems that DIM installs faster than DC. Ahh well, it is what it is. Thank you for your insight.
This is not correct - both DIM and Connect will enter their isntalled files into the Content Management System and will allow them to be "smart". If DIM content is not appearing correctly in the CMS-drive views then that suggests there is an issue - if it happens ocasionally make sure you aren't closing DS and launching DIM in quick succession (that can cause DIM to run without PostgreSQL); if it happens always it may be down to security software, or possibly folder permissions if you have run DIM and/or DS as administrator.
Interesting. Thank you for the update, Richard. I'll look closer.
I am having a similar issue. Several products indicate that they are installed by DIM but are not installed in DAZ. I found the content listed in the content library and by chance double clicked on it, and it seems to be installing via Connect. It is indeed, considerably slower. Is it writing the download content to yet another directory before installing? How do we fix this problem?
Are you sure the DIM install went to a folder Daz Studio uses as a content directory? Do you tend to close DS and start DIM, rather than running them concurrently - if the timing is slightly off that can lead to PostgreSQL not running for DIM, and so items don't get added to the database.
Yes, I am sure. I even did a clean install will full re-download of all content. It was unclear (from various forum posts) whether DS and DIM are meant to be open concurrently. If that were the case, how would one update the database?
Why do products have images if one downloads them through Connect, but not when downloaded with DIM?
The Pace Bundle for Genesis 8 Male(s) had an icon when installed after I purchased it (via DIM). Now with a clean install and download, it does not.
if it's just a communication issue unisntalling and reinstalling should fix it. It could also be a security software issue, interferring with the link to the database.
