Do known religious figures violate the TOS or such?

Actually, I think Cybertenko does have a Jesus character for M4. He's certainly got a calvary hill.

For most of my youth, I thought Calvary Hill was where Custer died.

I made a Jesus not long ago using this hair and beard. https://www.daz3d.com/odin-hair--beard-for-genesis-8-males and this turnic with changed textures https://www.daz3d.com/dynamic-tunic-and-sashes and as this was long before golgotha there was of course no crown of thorns, but here is one that can be used. But I do have one for Genesis 1 althogh I'm not sure where it is from.

I like Byzantine style Christian art, the non-violent ones. It's a style all it's own.

I find religious art... well, let's just say I have a preference for the less traditional, lighter interpretations of my faith.  Which works fine for Christmas (3 wise dragons, or the wisemen looking at a map while the drummer boy points to a sign reading "Bethlehem") but less so for Good Friday/Easter unless you're performing Jesus Christ Superstar.  (Though Palm Sunday is fair game)

That said, I'd much rather spin my own and dig up the robes (I have the angel robes for the Mil 4 generation, among others) than have any given store's "official" interpretation.  Especially as I'm quite tired of the Blond haired blue eyed Jesus.

We seem to have such trouble remaining civil while speaking of Poser and such, imagine the exponential butthurt when someone dismissively or derisively speaks of a creed.

This made me spit Diet Coke on my monitor...

The problem with a specific Jesus or various saints figure is that not everyone (who would buy it) would agree on the looks. Just look at all that religious art: Jesus looks very different from one painting to the next. Saints look like wealthy patrons. Frankly any character can be used as Jesus.

A better set would be props needed to make a Biblical scene. The cross, nails, crown of thorns. Elements along the stations. Outfits.

While there are lots of “pagan” images represented, you can certainly argue these are fantasy or Dungeons and Dragons characters.

What you don’t see are specific Hindu deities. With notable exceptions, you don’t see religious figures specifically modeled. You do see characters that can be used as such. If you so choose.

Supportive item sets might sell, but just natural tastes mean specifically modeling a religious figure won’t work. And likely be controversial.

I find it amazing that Daz is Utah based and christianity is absent while demons run rampant in Daz's corridors. Daz needs to shake it up. I'm not catholic but I've been looking for priests and nuns forever. How else do you rid the world of demons running rampant?.

I believe you may be looking for the Novareins... aka The Sisters of the Holy Order of Latex?  Just as an endorsement, since purchasing the bundle, I have not been attacked by vampires.  I'm not sure how they do against demons tho...

Honestly, I just wish I could have a posable rosary and maybe some religious jewelry for my renders, We roman catholics love to accessorize. I have some beautiful peices that are prefect when I go out as a goth.

There's a rosary prop (can't recall how posable it is) that comes with a clerical grab available for G3M from 'rosity by Toyen.  Having just checked it's 'only' a hnd-held (left or right) item, with hand poses.

I probably don't need a Jesus 8 with 'walking on water' morphs... but what I do need is more clothing choices from the Old Testament time period. They could simply be called 'Bronze Age' outfits. I've scripted out a comic which has a number of flashbacks to battles in the OT. There is a limited range of clothing available for that sort of thing. Right now I'm planning on using the Warrior Monk outfit for one side. I just wish it had a girded loins morph ;) Deacon215 over at the other site has a number of period outfits that might work for period scenes of this nature. I think his Minoans outfits will probably stand in for Philistine clothing with some texture changes. He also has some good Roman outfits that would work for people wanting to do crucifiction/Jerusalem occupation scenes.

That said, religious items will probably always be a niche category in 3D art but there are a lot of items that could be made if someone put their mind to it :)

Thankfully, the sacred texts of the Merciful Mogg do not forbid depictions of her divine visage.  In fact, her followers are of the mindset, "the bigger, the better," as can be seen in this "lesser" temple.  The better known ones tend to be reach "Mount Rushmore" or "Liberty statue" scales. wink

    Sincerely,

    Bill

That statue looks great. Epic stuff. Spacescape sky looks good too.

  • RedfernRedfern Posts: 1,647

Thanks, Griffin!  The statue is Melody for A3 with a procedural stone shader.  the spacescape bakground is from an "ancient" Moebius87 freebie, the Antares bridge.  The temple is the Acheron Pit with the humanoid skull elements omitted.  I positioned a point light above each brazier and included 3D versions of two characters from my long defunct web-comic to help drive home the scale of the statue.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

I have certainly shared Christmas and Easter renders and animations many times on the forum

as long as they do not go against the TOS showing nudity, blood and violence which Jesus on the cross might if not watered down

is like anything use your common sense in what you depict, same with politicians etc you cannot push a viewpoint but I dare say just a portrait of one with no personal biases would be OK

Then a lot of those images here featuring Jedi warriors fighting and being killed and maimed should be straight out of here....cheeky
