Writer Friends: Camp Nano Starts Tomorrow

Anyone doing Camp Nano this spring? Can't believe it starts tomorrow! The cabin I'm in filled up pretty fast this year, but let's encourage each other here!

I'm wrapping up my second Black Kat book and getting ready to rough out the third. Very excited!

What are you working on this year?

Trying my hand at a very different genre for me.  I am writing historical fiction based on a real family.  At least one of the brothers was present at many big events from the American Civil War to WWI.  Live in DC so have been very fortunate to be able to visit the National Archives and find State Dept dispatches written by one of the brothers, and other materials in Congressional records, and the Library of Congress (EDIT: none of the brothers were members of Congress, but a few worked for Congress).  My goal is something like Winds of War, but with a real family.

Not this year.  Camp is harder for me than NaNo anyway, but this year I have 1) Easter on day 1, which means no day 1 start.  2) a semi-unplanned trip to visit my mom in the first week, and 3) Tech Week for the high school musical in week 2.  (It is possible to write around Tech Week... but not with everything else.)

So since the first two weeks are basically shot... I might try July...

That sounds like a big project! Good luck with it!

That sounds very intriguing! (And I loved Winds of War!)

    Thanks, folks.

No way I can finish, but I will consider it a victory if I spend most of the month writing instead of researching.  It has been easy to put off writing, because there is always more that could be researched.

Good luck to everyone participating.  I am always amazed at how productive y'all are.

EDIT: Tim snuck in there while I was typing.  Don't let him fool you.  He is no slacker.  He is incredibly productive.  Just click those little links on his signature.

Tim, I feel your pain! I am finally near the finish line for Kat & Mouse. I was working on that all last year, hoping to have it out a long time ago. I think some books are like that. This one is definitely more complex. Thank God the next ones are simpler!

lol, I'm mostly productive making sets to sell here, cos that's what pays the bills! (To put it in perspective, my income from Amazon this month was $0.19!)
