Question re Lights and Cameras for Urban Future 5 - can't change render size

jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

I can't work this one out. I load one of the render settings, then go to "pixel size" in "general" in teh render settings and change the size of the image as I don't want a 5000px image. But while my measurements are accepted there, the image size doesn't change at all. It stays at 5000+ px in the viewport and the render. Is there a lock or something that I'm missing? Why can't I change the size of the image manually??

I think the camera is set up to use local settings (can't remember the exact wording) - and the camera sets the dimensions, so it ignores your "General" settings. Quite a few PAs are settings things up like this recently.

Select the camera you are using for the scene, go to it's parameters and you should be able to change the pixel size there (or set the local dimensions option off).

Sorry I can't remember the exact names of those things and my DS PC is not switched on right now to check.

    That's it! Thank you MelanieL!

Talk about confusing - I've never seen that before. LOL.

I must be doign something else wrong too, as my renders aren't quite looking like the render preset thumbs.

Have you added lighting to the scene? Stonemason typically uses Sun-Sky settings. Conversely, have you instead just loaded portions of the set rather than a scene file or the whole set?
