Small thing but irksome, Smart Content question...

Hello All,

Is there any way to eliminate or at least clarify the menu items in the Smart Content menu. Here is an example of what I'm talking about:

Each of the icons appear to be the same, but they're actually for Genesis 2, Genesis 3 Female, Genesis 3 Male, Genesis 8... etc.

But I can't tell them apart.

So is there a way to set the menu so it only shows applicable icons or something?

Thanks!

I have this product....  I would say yes but it isn't really worth the effort.  You can right-click on each icon, find the location, edit each png in an image editor with gen 3 female etc..., and that would give you what you want. Since each of those applies to any of the versions of the eyelash, any of the same attribute can be used.  If you don't use smart content, have multple copies of these tiny files allow you to get to the settings in the library.  It is more of an esthetic issue which I consider a bonus.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I encounter this same issue on many, many products. Like I said, it's more annoying than anything. What I don't understand is if they all do the same thing, and they all work on the different characters, why even have so many different versions?

It's mainly aimed for Content Library users. It's more convenient for them but harder to use under smart Content. This is the reason why I keep the Additional Information area open for some products.

In short, all of the low density (no dots), or high density (6 dots) and everything in between work on all the figure's eyelashes so it doesn't matter if you choose the first of the not dot or the last of the no dots.  The eyelashes have their on uv's which are independent of which figure wears them.  The different eyelashes only differ in the fit to the appropriate figure.

  • Yes, look at it under files instead of products, and have Filter by Context checked. Select your figure in the scene, and only the one for that gen will show up. Then select the lashes and only shaping presets that apply to that one will show up.

Thanks! That worked like a charm. :)
