Is there a way for the Perspective Camera to save it's location?
I do a lot of my posing and stuff in my Perspective Camera and a lot of transient renders as well. I usually only use actual cameras for framing the whole scene and my locked-frame shots. It would be really handy to be able to save a scene with the Perspective camera saved at it's last spot.

no but while looking through the perspective Camera load a new Camera and choose the "Copy the Perspective Camera". Then what I do is to lock the new camera by going in to the Parameters pane with the new cam selected and in the Options Box Lock the node.
Are you using DAZ Studio or Poser?
Under Preferences, the Scene Tab, check Create a default Camera. Use the Default Camera instead of the Perspective Camera and it will work as you want it to work.

If you can't keyframe, save, etc why not just have a default camera to start?
I wasn't sure about DS but you can save your aux. camera in Poser.

Because the perspective view acts as a working camera. Not one that you should render through. It allows you to explore the scene, without having to worry about moving an actual camera.
Think of it as the eyes of the director, and not a camera. You can't save what the director's sees, but if he sees a shot that he likes he can place a camera in that location.
Like Szark said, if you are in perspective view, and you find a spot you'd like to save load a new camera. Create > New Camera... in the new camera dialogue you can choose to show more options. One of those options is to Apply Active Viewport Transforms. Make sure that radio button is selected and the camera will load in right where you are viewing.
You can then continue on through the scene and the camera will stay put. You can use the View Selection Menu to switch back to that camera at any time. Just be aware that if you use any View Port controls while viewing through a camera it will move/alter the camera.

The Perspective View is so you can move about, especially in an animation without key framing a camera. Note it is intentionally called the perspective view, not perspective camera. So you can zoom in and adjust the feet so they sit on the floor, so you can zoom in and get that hand pose exactly how you want it, especially when holding something, etc. all without disturbing your render camera position or having bad key frames.

To continue with Pete's suggestion to create a new "locked" camera that imitates the perspective view, you can then save the scene as a new Startup Scene. I've been doing that (though not for Perspective View) since I started playing with DS 2 years ago.
I have the same for Poser 9 as well, though in that case I have 2 Startup Scenes depending on whether I want the Main Camera, or the Face Camera (for a closeup), for a particular render.
You can create a new camera at that view location with a simple click. You can then save the scene with that camera view active.
Having the perspective view separate from a camera is hugely beneficial, there's no baggage moving it around, and the ability to create a new camera from that view whenever you need one, is intuitive and useful.

Also note it is also very good, using the same method, for quick lighting placement.
I too like that in Daz studio you can render through the perspective camera
in carrara it annoys me at times I cannot render through the directors camera for single frame tests and have to create an extra test camera I set to directors camera position each time to render as well as my keyframed camera1 for my animation
Poser I accidently render through the wrong damn camera it is not funny!
And these are exactly how I use the Perspective View....
Also note it is also very good, using the same method, for quick lighting placement. Using the Perspective View to Detail Poses, add new Cameras and Place Lighting is one of the most time saving features I have ever found in DAZ Studio. The Perspective View is my workhorse view and Camera View is for my Renders and Animating. Thanks for all the replies guys!
Thanks, this was very helpful to me and it worked great!
I would just add that when you go to the Options Box to lock the Nodes, select the first selection to lock all the Nodes (which worked for me).
Then close out of Daz Studio completely, then reopen it to see your changes.
You will first see the original Perspective view, but when you go to the top right Perspective drop-down menue click on your new camera at the bottom (what ever you named it), then your saved scene will come up!
Ah, what a relief to have finally figured this out!
