Tutorials for Blender

So recently I purchased a tutorial from V3 Digitimes for Blender https://www.daz3d.com/easy-modeling-and-morphing-with-blender which looks great because it has a PDF with it and I learn best with written material. And now I see Syckleyield has another tutorial for Blender on sale and I know her tutorials are awesome but this one is all video. I have not had a chance to check out the first tutorial yet. I am way more arty than geeky and still am trying to figure out the nooks and crannies of DS after 2 years. Do you think I need both tutorials? Does anyone have both? Does one cover some things the other doesn't? Would getting both be redundant or does Syckleyield's have other information in hers that may not be in the V3 Digitimes version? I don't have time to check out the tutorial today and Sycleyield's is only on sale for one day. If people own one or both, I'd love to hear your opinion and if you think I need both. I learned Photoshop and most of Poser easily without a manual, but my struggles with DS make me realize that if things aren't really intuitive I suck at them LOL.

I have both, and enjoyed and got more out of Sickle Yield's. I hate to say it because there was absolutely nothing wrong with V3Digitime's, but I can barely remember a thing about it even though I saw it more recently and have watched both products only once. Other people's mileage may vary, as may yours. I'd still recommend owning both though - if I can watch something and think to myself afterwards that I couldn't have produced the exact product myself with the knowledge I had beforehand then I've learned something new from it. I couldn't have put V3Digitime's product together any more than I could've done SickleYield's. There's bound to be a bit of an overlap, but even though I preferred Sickle Yield's there's enough differences between them to make both worthwhile if you can spare the cash.
Hi,
I have both and don't regret purchasing either of them.

Same here. I have and like both. That PDF from V3Digitimes is really great, though. I've used it for reference a couple of times since first reading it, so I'm glad to have it.
OK thanks. I just hope I can figure either of them out! And my other issue is that I have a free light version of Z Brush that came with my Wacom that I haven't tried yet and I'm not sure what the difference is in all these programs and if I'm even capable of learning them, since I still haven't figured out half of DS yet!
I got Sy's tutorial. I was tossing up which one to get. And SY won because I wanted to learn how to make a sword and clothing. Though V3 does look pretty cool too, with the pdf companion.
I don't know anything about ZBrush, but on another forum post, someone said ZBrushCore lacks UV mapping capability. The version you have is free, so you might as well try it, and you might love it. Just be aware of the possibility you may need to get another program or to buy an upgrade in order to UV map your models for rendering in DS.
