You could also LIST ALL THE DISCOUNTS at checkout.

Right now it says something like "PC+ saved you $136.68 on this order"

Suppose it broke down the discounts.

    Okay I'm dreaming now. lol

I think thats a great idea.

    Greetings,

Perhaps, and sometimes trying to satisfy one group will lead to dissatisfying another group.

Is there a group out there that wants to be overcharged? Can they possibly be larger than the group that doesn't? A completely irrational, completely silent majority?

That's a misunderstanding of what they're saying.  Simplifying the sales would likely result in significantly fewer good discounts.  That would be dissatisfying to me, for example.

I didn't misunderstand. The topic of this thread is not to ask for less complex sales. It's to ask not to be overcharged. Continuing to do complex sales does not require overcharging customers. As you said, the math is not hard.

I keep thinking of Cornucopia3d and shuddering in horror and I’m sure all the vendors in the business are doing the same. They’ve been down for /four months/ as a result of ‘technical difficulties’. I suspect the margins here are thin enough that a lot of people dependent on the current system would rather stick with something with known foibles  rather than risk everything on something that might work better eventually. So that situation can’t be helping matters from the customer’s end. But it does point out the trickiness of running a brokerage. You kind of have _two_ sets of customers to juggle.

I am not allowed to relay my customer service experience and would like to keep the focus on what steps can be taken, or what is Daz doing, to make sure the price is correct when I hit 'buy'.

Other than them switching to a "better" store software package (I'm not convinced that this is the real issue), I really don't know what the answer is.

We're definitely seeing a lot less 'glitching' than we were a year ago.

I use Paypal when I'm not using a Gift Certificate.  Same thing there, they show me what I am getting charged.  If it doesn't match what was in the cart, I back it out and try again.  The cart unquestionably glitches, and it isn't a rare occurance.

I actually had a situation once when I authorized PayPal to charge X amount, and ended up with a charge of more than that. So I can't trust the PayPal authorization screen. Customer Support took care of the situation quickly, so all is good. But you should definitely check your receipt after each purchase.

That is scary as I have been using PayPal in the past year because of two massive overcharges from Dec 2016 & Jun 2017.
