Krita 4.0 is out
in The Commons
It added vector stuff! For those that have no clue what this is, its a cool opensource, free, painterly program that is great for anime style stuff. You can do more traditional painterly things in it too. I got Dreamlight's background tutorial and I want to work on some resource images for backgrounds with it. Or just paint over some photos to practice and make art. This software is improving fast and has gotten much better so if it never impressed you before, this version just might. I just stumbled upon it having a fresh new version and wanted to let people about it. The new features may be a little buggy but they are working on it. Give it a spin, it is FREE.

Looks sick. Thanks for the heads up.
Thanks so much for the heads up. Krita is awesome. Great new features and it's FREE!
If you search Applications and Resources on DeviantArt for Krita you should find a ton of brushes and a few other add-ons for it. I found some watercolor brush sets that look pretty good, lots of ink sets and anime style stuff. I have been wanting to use Star but the war of getting Anime themed backgrounds for her has held me back. But now I can go to pixabay, get a free to use background and paint over it and use it in Daz Studio!
WOOT! Free AND awesome paint app! What more can ye ask for?
Thanks.I love krita.and most of the photoshop brushes work with it as well.
Pixabay...?...!!!! I just went there! You opened up a new world for me - thank you!
By the way - I hate sports, and what is the first pic I get from Pixabay! Lol Thanks again!
I keep a copy of photoshop elements to use all those free photoshop resources on deviant art. I was really happy to know Krita uses the brushes and most of plugins too. I had some old makeup files for V4 and bought Elements years ago to open the files because Gimp wouldn't open them. Recently I bought G3F makeups and they had layer groups and Elements wouldn't open them and Gimp totally did and let me remove the grouping so I could use them Elements. Gimp is also letting you use photoshop brushes and plugins. When I first got into digital art years ago free and opensource software wasn't as good as it is today. Today I have Inkscape, Gimp, Krita, and Blender (which I don't have a clue about using yet) installed on my computer.

Anyone know where in the file structure to install filters? I want to try the Nvidia Normal maps filter in Krita to see if it works.
This link gives me 404 Notfound?

Recently someone managed to integrate Blender with Krita,
Plugin: Blender Layer - Live 3d View in Krita - Resources / Plugins - Krita Artists (krita-artists.org)
Imagined if few did the same for Daz at Krita
