Rochelle Ponytail Hair
Sorry to ask so many questions, but I bought this because I wanted just the ponytail, so the rest of the hair could fit under a helmet that lets the tail stick out. I turned the opacity for everything but the tail off 100% and it looks great in preview. When I render, though, the bangs on the left side still show. I tried making sure they were grouped to a 0-opacity surface (bangs) with the geometry editor, but they were still there in render. I also tried putting the opacity down to 100% on everything (including the parts I wanted to see), and they were still there in the render. It isn't another product, either...I can make it go away by turning off visibility for the Rochelle Hair over in the scenes tab, but no other way. Any recourse for this?

I'm not seeing this - just loaded the hair, selecteed it, clicked its name in the Surfaces pane, and turned Cutout Oapcity dow to 0 - render is completely empty.
Could it be because it's on a G2? I get a trace of it on G3, as well. The third pic is with native shaders, as I thought the third-party UHTC shaders might be affecting it. I deleted and reloaded to make sure the native shader was default.
Yes, with a figure loaded (before i'd just loaded the hair) I do see that. One option that worked for me, not having AutoFitted, was to hide the ehad adn bangs bones - since you want only the tail that would seem th way to go, load the hair but Cancel AutoFit if it comes up, then place the hair so the tail is where you want, hide the head and bangs bones, and just parent it to the head. I'm not sure why it was still showing in renders, even with all strength properties zeroed, refraction index set to 1, and SSS amount set to 0.
Thanks. That might help me place the tail with greater precision anyway. I hadn't thought of it.
