Daz Studio needs a single button to turn limits off or on

You should not have to run through rings to turn multiple limits off and on. Just have a universal button to every limit off... then let the user turn back ON what they want... if folks need fine tuning. Poser 4 had this in 2003

Rotation limits are in the Edit>Figure>Limits menu

Turning off all limits would break figures, if you want that you will need to write (or commission) a script and accept the risks.

I just tested a product that required the figures to have limits OFF, but all the props had to have limits ON.  So I had to keep bouncing back and forth to preferences for each set of figure/prop poses.  It's a PITA.  Surely DS can have an easier way to change limits on the fly from on to off without going to Edit/Preferences/Content each time.

I would also like to be able to lock all movement beyond a joint.
If I create a hand pose, lock every finger bone connected to the hand,
and not let a loaded pose unlock them!
(So my character will always hold the gun properly, no matter what
    else I have her doing!)

Select the figure or object, right click and select all. Then the parameters tab, click the little box to the top right, limts - off, takes 2 seconds. I never turn them off though since I find it useful to keep them on and shy away from any product that requires me to turn them off

    Wow, thanks! Had no idea.

small issue - my layout is different ;)  (the little box is at the top-left of my tabs, just above)
You can also right-click the tab marked 'parameters' (as that brings up the same menu)

    Good advice though, cheers :)

Thanks for the tips to quickly turn off limits! I understand why they are there, but annoying to turn off one at a time.

On a related subject, anything similar for surfaces? I can go poke around myself later, but I know that some presets turn off limits, but some types do not, and I have had situations where copying settings from one surface to antoher doesn't match up because the first surface had limits off.

There's the option to do this with a very similar to what FSMC mentioned: Right click the body part you want to lock in the scene tab > select > select children. Then click top right in the parameters tab and there's "lock" right next to limits

Of couse if you're extra like me you create a custom toolbar with shortcuts to most of these tools. Creating custom toobars is actually super easy, hit f3  and you can create new toolbars (or menus) just by right clicking hitting create new menu and dragging and dropping things from the actions into it

That works, and so quick! Thanks.
Is there any way to lock them that a new pose won't undo?
Or can I save a pose in such a way that it won't unlock locked movements?

While you have those parts selected, go to the parameters tab, select those same parts in parameters (you can click and drag on the list or hold down control to pick and chose). Now you'll be editing all the parts together, so click the 'lock' icon for bend, twist, side-side or whatever.

That... doesn't work. Some poses will unlock the parts when you apply the pose.
I've tried, such as making a pose for a character to hold something in their
right hand, but changing to a new pose changes the (locked) hand pose as well.
Sometimes they're still locked, but in a new position!

Wow, it's always worked for me. I don't know any other way to do it then.

    Anyone else have anything?
