  • Quite close - a bit more details who you've dialed in?

  • My try ... hmmm

That looks amazing! Do you mind sharing what lights and render settings you used? Or could you share your scene file? I love how the translucency in the skin and the overall sharpness of your render.

  • I would also love to see your render and light settings nohiznguyen. It looks really great!!!

  • Another daz mystery that probably won't ever get solved lol.

Seeing as Kool is impossible to contact, I'm disapointed that no mod has bothered to contact him/her on behalf of this thread.

When I've wondered about a promo image and been unable to reach the PA, I put in a ticket with support. They will contact the vendor and ask. One of you could try that if you haven't already. One of the dropdown choices in the Sales ticket tracker portion of the help ticket is "promo image/product used".

Moderators are here to moderate threads in an attempt to keep things generally civil and enjoyable in the forums and report various forum/store issues to Daz3D that may need resolved. They generally don't contact vendors etc for people. If they/we did that we would have no time left to do the rest since there are a lot of members on this website and only a small handful of moderators.

As for the character used in the Annabelle Hair Promos, you could try putting in a Support Ticket. I know when I upload our sets I give a list of what was used in my promos so maybe they have what Kool used and if not they may be able to contact them for you to ask.

If I had to guess, the morph looks somewhat like it is from this pack: https://www.daz3d.com/paisley-for-teen-josie-8
The textures though seem to be from possibly a different pack... PAs do have a way of hybriding things (I know I do...) so it could be there is no specific character but that it is a mashup of a couple packs.

    Hello,

if you are referring to Annabelle Hair for Genesis 8 Female(s), the model is charlotte8. I compared her face skin and freckles are the same.

We figured out the texture for the character a while ago but thanks for taking the time to compare those textures. It looks like only the exact shape of the figure is still a mystery, but we got pretty close to it I think.

At this point I would just be happy if @nohiznguyen returns and share some render/lighting wisdom with us. That render looked awesome!

Hi, sorry for late reply, just back home yesterday. I'm glad that you guys like that render.

I didnt save that scene so I cant share it. But here what I did:

    - Light and HDRI: Painter's Lights (Pale Brown and Renaissance 1 or 2R) https://www.daz3d.com/painter-s-lights

Tone mapping: Shutter speed 100 (a bit brighter and sharper)

    - Char: 45% Teen Josie 8 + 50% Charlotte 8 + 5~10% Karyssa 8. I think Karyssa does add something subtle but quite unique to the face. Charlotte 8 default skin.

Some dials: Iris a bit smaller (-10%), upper lip thinner (-10%), face heart shape (5~10%).

Oh, 1 more thing: for face portrait, the camera's default focal length is not good, it may cause some distortions. So I used focal length 95 for that render.

    Well, hope that helps smiley

@nohiznguyen Thank you! You made me realize that I have never mess with the tone mapping and focal length settings. Can you recommend any good tutorials for tone mapping? It looks like it made a world of difference in the sharpness.

Do you remember if you changed the skin settings at all? It looks like her skin shines a bit more in your render. Really happy with the way this turned out though. Any more tips? Thanks again!

  • Thank you @nohiznguyen for the info.  I could not find the settings for Iris  to make it smaller, upper lip thinner, and heart shape face, so I just made the general eyes "smaller" and lips slightly thinner.  In render Tone Mapping, I increased the Gamma.  I don't have a background, but here's my "what's-her-name?" render at 75% ...
