A few oddities in Tesla 3D's Attic Entertainment Room

I snagged this new product while it was (briefly) on sale today at a bargain price, so I'm not unhappy with the purchase. But if I had paid full retail, or the PC+ price, I certainly would be. As the attached quickie render shows, the four-prop drone has only one prop and no textures. The guitar has even more oddities: a white neck with a saw-toothed heel, and a white spot on the side of the headstock. And the neck-to-headstock joint is...well, I've built several guitars and scrutinized countless others, and I've never seen a joint like that. Not there, anyway. Out front, there's also some weirdness with the third fret which is the same strange  pink colour as the strings.

OK, they're just props; scene fillers. I didn't expect a playable concert-grade instrument or a flyable quadcopter, but as it is they're not much use even as props. Maybe the product was rushed to market. If so, maybe we can hope for an update--one that will also get rid of the spalted wood on the soundboard of that guitar.

Regardless, I won't be returning it because it was such a screamin' deal at the price. But if the creator hopes for future sales, he or she may want to correct what appear to be oversights.

He/She/They have improved but still do strange things. Their first product had the floor part of one wall and the ceiling part of another, so hiding them wasn't possible. I picked up one recent one, giving another chance. Not bad - but - strange. For example, a room divider shelf with books. No problem, except that the cover textures were reused, so the shelves had several copies of each book. And the books were part of the shelving prop. And if you went to hide the surfaces you find that each book 'cover' (spine, front, and back) are one surface and the pages (top, bottom, edge) were a different mat zone. All the pages, for ALL the books were a single mat zone.

I kept the set because it worked for what I wanted - but like I say, a bit on the strange side from a modeling perspective.

This--and several other products I've bought recently--leave me wondering what DAZ's QC process is good for if it doesn't catch such obvious howlers.

And who sets up their TV under a large window with no curtains? I guess that's the shady side of the house.

You really should put in a ticket about those props - they can't be fixed if they don't know about it. Regardless of the cheap price, I definitey would have returned that - the drone and guitar are not even finished properly.

Support ticket submitted, since no one else seems to have noticed these screwups (or cared enough to quack about 'em wink).
