Arki Poser Dynamics with dForce?

Has anyone successfully used either https://www.daz3d.com/angeloi-the-outfit or https://www.daz3d.com/totem-the-owls-dynamic-caftan-for-v4 (or their M4 companions) with dForce?  I tried the Lotus Gown, and that kinda fell apart, but that also wasn't designed for dynamics (I believe)

I've tried the Totem dynamic caftan on G8M (just yesterday, but I didn't save the render I'm afraid) - it certainly did not explode, and worked well in the simple pose I chose first, but in one of the more extreme poses his hand came through the fabric just to one side of where the wrist should lie. I haven't explored further yet. I did try it on a G3F when dForce first came out - the pics are here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2921271/#Comment_2921271

I have the Angeloi outfit but not yet tried to dForce it. I've used the Poser dynamic bits statically (figure close to original load position) when I first bought it over a year ago (well before dForce came out) but not since.

I'm contemplating picking up a few more at the 90% off price on the basis that (a) it's not a large outlay if it's a disaster; (b) I could always use them in Poser which I have but have barely ever used.

I hope someone with more experience of them in dForce will stop by to help.

ETA: Actually if you look through the rest of the thread I link to there may be some more posts about using Poser dynamics, though I don;t remember anything specifically about Angeloi or Totem.

Granted, I haven't tried too many, but every Poser dynamic cloth I've tried (including two of my own creations) worked just fine with dforce.

I haven't tried with any purchased poser dynamics, but many of the freebies I've tried - a couple from people who regularly sold it - exploded, even when I tried the "drop test" (load the object, raise it 10cm, apply dforce, simulate) and one draped okay, but broke apart at the shoulders.

I trust Arki as a vendor, but funds are tight, so even though the price is great right now, I want to be sure before I purchase.

In Poser, the key to making dynamic clothing that doesn't fall apart upon draping is to make sure vertices are welded properly. You can get away with that in conforming clothes, but in simulations, they'll literally fall apart at the seams.  Like Laurie, I've also had 100% success rate in bringing dynamic clothes from Poser to DS, so long as they draped in Poser.  And in DS, I've experienced "explosion" only when my simulation settings were not right.

Give me a few minutes and I'll try the Angeloi and Owls items in DS.  I've used Arki's dynamic outfits in Poser for eons.

  • There's a dForce tutorial on thinkdrawart.com that actually uses the Angeloi outfit.  I was able to get some nice draping following along.

The M4 Angeloi sleeves worked when I quickly tried them as did the caftan the M4 wizard robe exploded.

Thanks.  I've been drooling over the Angeloi outfits pretty much since they came out.  Decided to wait on the caftans and pick up a couple of other things that I more directly needed.  There will be another V4/M4 sale, the only question is will I have funds available to take advantage of it. :)
