  It would probably be better parented (cancel the AutoFit dialogue when loading, then parent to the head rather than trying to fit it).

  Or, use this tutorial and conform the hair as normal. It's stupid easy :). I've converted all my hair from G3M and G3F to their G8 counterparts and kept all the bones :).

  I use it with no problem on G8 and do what Richard Haseltine already mentioned.
