Well then. Edward!

I did not see this coming. I guess they're on an 'mature figure' kick. I can't say I dislike it! As soon as the swirlies stop I'm hoping to dive right in!

    Ed... ward?

Yeah, promos look good, will be interested to see what all is included once the products load.

**It appears Edward does not know how to button jacket buttons. I think I have enough similar G8M jackets that are buttoned that work well with these, but still kind of funny to see them all on the same day laugh.

On the one hand, I like the look of him.

On the other, he's a week early. Which is a problem in many ways.

And there are 10 items in his pro bundle compared to 12 in Alexandra's, but then, (EDIT: Never mind. Items appeared on the pro bundle page after I posted. There are 12 items there now.)

Apparently the HD add-on is included in his setup. (Which does bring up the question of where all the other missing HD-addons are now. There hasn't been one since Charlotte.)

Like Alexandra the aging isn't overboard or plastic looking.

  • Oddly, looking at the product pages, it's not just that HD is included in the pro bundle, it's actually included in the base product? Not a complaint, just seems strange that it is both an add on and part of the product it is an add on for. Unless that's just the store sorting out the links and everything.

At first glance on the promos, the skin on the body looks more appropriately aged on most of these characters than some of the Alexandra ones that had younger looking bodies.

Yay, last day of PC+ membership and this pops up. Perfect timing.

  • Edward literally left me breathless. I gasped and was just gawking at him in surprise. Good job!

Only if Edward and crew work or plays outdoors alot, which is my assumption given the way they are more wrinkled and aged than Alexandra's crew. I think the included HD is a purchase incentive for what they anticipate to be a product that doesn't sell as much as Alexandra or the even more traditional DAZ female characters.

Okay, I caved on Edward, and got the Pro bundle. Plus a bunch of other stuff I had wishlisted that is either free or discounted with this deal. DIM tells me there are 49 items to d/l, subtotaling $608.60 for an actual cost of $71.82 (including Plat Club discount). Nice.

Edit to add: No thumbnail provided for the dForce Long Coat outfit.

So, just when I said I was going on a DAZ figure hiatus, here comes Edward! One thing I did find interesting was  that the pro version comes with a casual suit and then there’s an informal suit add-on. I almost didn’t notice that there was a difference until I realized they were made by different people.

Also, loved getting three DAZ bundles to top it off. I picked up a few side vampires and a zombie I didn’t get. Not my general cup of tea, but when I can get them for free ... I’ll gladly add them to my collection.

Maybe it's the name, but the first promo on the main store page banner (guy in leather jacket) made me think of Sean Bean (Eddard) - not a close likeness but a bit of the look.

Edward HD with a couple of extras. With a little tweaking, I think he'd be a Stark reminder of someone.

Wow...a bit early but I think next week will start March Madness and they don't want him in that sale.... I like him!

Somehow he reminds me of Gale Harold. The mouth...the smirk...don't know why...

  • Im impressed! Nice sculpt Daz. The aging detail that you crafted on his face is totally fun. I could easily see him cruising down the street in his (insert muscle car make and model) taking out the badguys or (and) taking one on the chin in a drunken bar fight! Really fun! There are some cool new products as well. Who did the shaved hair look for him? Soon to be released? Was it RedzStudio? Ill bet it was RedzStudio...

I'll certainly purchase this model (when I get a nice discount) yeswink

Out of all the new boys, I quite like the look of Finn most of all, but the promo pics only show him with facial hair.  Does he have a no facial hair option?

Yup. What I need is a thick-meshed Armani/HugoBoss suit with believable lapels and open/close morphs or two jacket geometries along with a height-adjustable, fat/thin morphable, boned tie. Edward is a good match for Alexandra. I'm glad they didn't wait until next week for his release.

Ok, last one for a while. :)

Edward 8, imo, is the best looking "official 8" male so far!

  • When the Alexandra 8 figure was released, I thought at first that the "Buy this, reduce the price of this, get this free" was a overly complicated but after some time playing around with combinations of add-ons, I was very pleased with the end price for what I got.  This time with Edward 8, I did a bit of experimenting.  Picking three of the cheapest add-ons means that you pay a lower price overall for the Edward 8 Pro pack than you would buying it on its own (at least with a PC membership).  Buying the more expensive items does mean that the price goes up a little, but the discount is excellent.  Between Alexandra 8 and Edward 8, I have been able to make some nice "Pro" version additions to my Genesis 3 collection.

As for Edward 8 - Well done to Daz!  I'm downloading now, but he looks fantastic (thanks to everyone for posting renders above) and will no doubt go well with Alexandra.

I didn't expect a new fogure this week, but I must say I really like Edward :)

Woohoo! Finally a G8 Daz Original Male I actually like! A perfect Bond guy!

Actually he looks like a teacher I once had a huge crush on LOL. Who are you referring to? I was thinking Stark was a hint referring to Ironman but I don't think he looks like Robert Downey JR...

Just as with Alexandra I really like the character, he's charming but think the bundle content a bit dull. There's a Shaman/Imam beard and hair that I fancy and might pick up later for the time being I'm settling for the base figure. Is it just me who have seen it all, or are the creators not finding inspiration out there anymore (catwalks, games, movies, stages, street, art et cetera)?

Not Tony Stark. Think Game Of Thrones, though the resemblance to Edard (Eddard?) Stark may just be in my imagination.

Yessssssssssssssssssssss - that's a man I can use! Perfect for book covers!

  • What an excellent figure.  I've spent the last couple of hours doing various test renders and then I realised that he would make a great Bond.
