Transfer gender

In the Sakura thread there were discussions about how to change her base figure into a male character. I learned how to load a Genesis 3 Female character, go to "parameters" and under "actor" move a slider to change the gender of the character. Here's an example using Mika that I did. But when I baught Genesis 8 female characters it doesn't have that option. I thought maybe it wasn't showing because I didn't have the body morph pack, so I got those too. But it's still not showing as an option for me.

Is anyone else having this problem with the G8F figures? Is there a new work around that I some how missed in the Sakura or other related threads? I only broke over and picked up Sakura because I thought I could use her as a male character, but so far my efforts have not turned out the way I wanted. With the morph pack I can make her flat chested and reduce curvy hips, but she still very much looks like a she.

Okay, that not how this works.

The slider you are using is part of different product. I forget what it is called but maybe someone can provide that detail. It's not really important. It is not part of Genesis 3. It is something what was added to Genesis 3.

    Genesis 8 doesn't have it.

To do what you are aiming to do is not a "gender transfer" but a case of owning the right tools to provide the changes to your Genesis 8 figure. If you go back to the Sakura 8 thread, you can find the the people who did the things you want to do and ask them which products and which settings they used. Then you will know which sliders to use and which products to buy.

  • I have transgender morphs. Keep in mind these will never work as well as taking the time to move your morphs to the other base.

While Genesis 8 doesn't appear to have an androgynous morph, you can unhide hidden parameters and dial the Genesis 8 male (or female) clone to get a similar effect.

Okay, I got that mixed up with the hidden parameter dials. Thanks.

Some how my settings got changed and the hidden parameters were re-hidden. I got that figured out now, thank you!

The figure looks okay, but when I go to pose him the hands become deformed. Is this why it's been sugested to transfer morphs to the male character?

  • Clones don't include rigging adjustments, since it's not necessary for their intended purpose. Select the Joint Editor tool, right click on the figure, and select Edit>Adjust Rigging To Shape.

Has anyone using the male clones on G8F had problems with hands being deformed? Or out of general knowledge, does anyone know how to fix them?

I'd really appreciate some help with that!

Oh, nevermind; adjusting the rigging worked fine!

Edit>Figure>Rigging>Adjust Rigging to Shape, then with just the morph set (no other shapes or posing), right-click in the Parameters pane>Edit Mode, right-click on the morph slider>ERC Freeze

What if you just did Adjust Rigging to Shape, i.e., what extra value does ERC Freeze provide? I'm always a little wary of the ERC freeze/bake functions because I don't fully understand them and I'm concerned they might update a base figure permanently (similar to save as/support asset).

Is there any simple explanation to them, or, as they say, something a 7yo would understand?

Would buying or just getting a transgender morph work? There is agent unawares who offers this on his patreon site and rendo offers these morphs as well.

ERC Freeze does need to be sued with caution, if there are already links you need to bake them first or you will get the Duplicate Formulas error. It sets up a link between one property (the controller) and other proeprties (Sub Components) that are all non-zero (or not 100% for scale), so that when the controller is set the other properties are adjusted to match. You cna see if a property has any sub-components by opening its Parameter Settings dialogue, via the gear icon on the slider, or by finding it in the Property Hierarchy pane.

Ah interesting. Read some other threads on it too. Seems most useful for merchants who create morphs. Thanks.
