Anybody know if doors are rigged or if all buildings are just static props?

  • I didn't test all the buildings but the buildings I did look at appear to be single objects without any rigging

I'm pretty sure, like their Salem set, the buildings are static props.

Edited to add: Heard back from a friend who confirms they are static.

All are props, no rigging, no morphs.

...ended up getting it as it can be used in a mix & match setting.

  • Can be used with gen 8 models?

Are there material zones for the doors so you can make them invisible or delete the polys to replace them with rigged doors? Haven't made up my mind yet=)

Nope. I didn't see any for the ones I looked at. For example the Post Office building only has one diffuse color map

You could probably create one using the geometry editor

I like the set particularly for distance work. I’d love to see a military base camp though with interiors and bunks and exterior obstacle course.

...makes for a great late 50s research facility, y'know, where people claim to see those UFOs flying about.

Actually it is a bit earlier than that. It was based on the Manhatten Project facilities at Los Alamos during WWII

...but similar installations were used for a lot of those old "giant atomic creature" and UFO films.

Using the polygon editor to hide the door didn't work on the housing (2) I was playing with. Behind the door was the wall with no doorway. This is going to take a little more work.

Yeah that's what I figured so I passed on this one for now.  Put it in my wishlist as it has a number of props that seem useful for kit bashing. Eventually it will go on sale again;)

...hmm wonder If I could take it into Hexagon to kitbash.
