Victoria 7 Texture - Seams showing between the legs and torso
I was wondering if anyone has this same issue with the Victoria 7 default texture. I have uninstalled Victoria 7 and reinstalled it twice now but I keep getting it. I first started to notice that on many of my renders I could see a seam right where the legs texture meets the torso. I kept thinking that I was causing it. I finally tracked it down and it appears to be from loading the texture Victoria 7 for Iray.
You can load any G3F figure but then go into Victoria 7's product folder and load the texture called "Victoria 7 All MAT." You can also load the figure called "Victoria 7 HD" and it will have the same error. Oddly enough loading the regular standard Victoria 7 figure doesn't have the same error.
If you look in the surfaces tab and select all skin, then scroll down to the SSS section and look for the setting called "Scattering Measurement Distance." You should see a question mark. Look at all of the other skin surfaces and the Scattering Measurement Distance will be set to ".12" But for the legs it reads, for me at least, as being set to ".75" for the legs.
I have attached my screenshots and a render I did with some various lighting including the default Iray Environment Map. Because this is an SSS issue, you have to let it render in Iray past 3000 or so iterations before you can see the seam. Also, it doesn't show up in all lighting conditions because it is SSS.
I would love to see if I it is just my install. I am having a hard time with DAZ QA on this issue. They keep telling me that they can't see the seam in a render. They don't tell me that they can't see that the surface settings are different on that texture for the legs. It would be nice if they did tell me that then I could just keep trying to reinstall it. No, they tell me that they can't see the seam. So if other people can see the difference in the setting, then likely you will notice it in renders now too in certain lighting conditions.

Sorry, I had to take down the screen shots and cover Victoria 7 up. Here are the screenshots.
You don't need the figure at all to show the values. Black bars (or discs) are not an acceptable way to cover nudity.
I can see a very subtle seam, barely notceable, but yes they do need to address if the SSS settings are consistent or not.
Just tested and yes, when the figire is loaded 'Victoria 7' the settings are as you would expect, however, when loading the iray mats sss is set incorrectly on the legs, exactly how you describe.
It doesn't seem to have a HUGE effect, but it definitely isn't right and needs a fix.
Sorry about that. I thought that would be enough to cover the figure. So here are screenshots of just the Surfaces tab.
Its a bit more problematic with some current Daz Products. Many of them actually have textures which are dependant on the shader. Yup, the shader hides the seams in the textures. I noticed one which was supposed to support 3DL, and that was the only way I was able to convince the designer to make the textures match. I suspect we'll see some belly aching when an update to iRay comes along.
Please report this as a possible bug, by opening a Technical Suport ticket https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us
Frequently the cause, is either normal maps; so remove the torso and leg ones to see if still there, or the settings panel > click an image ? select > image editor; the gamma should be the same.
Make sure you state the exact steps you took to create the error - I've reported a few myself, and it saves time if you do it in original post, as they will ask anyway. :)
