Typically, print requires 240 or 300 dots per inch (dpi). So if you wanted to print, say, a 12x8-inch image at 300 dpi, your render would need to be 3,600 by 2,400 pixels.

OK, so the settings are just the dimensions: multiply each dimension by 300 to acheive the size. I.e. 8 x 10 (8x300 and 10x300) = 2,400 x 3,000.

It's important to remember, if you want to print your renders, that DAZ|Studio does not put a DPI value into the saved render image file. If you load the render into a viewer program or PhotoShop, and look at the Resize dialog, whatever DPI value you see there is the program's default "file doesn't have a value" setting. The only measure of image size used in D|S is pixels.
Been a few years since I last used Photoshop, but I'm fairly sure it's Image Size. And make sure you look at the tickbox for "Resize Pixels" or something like that. If you use the wrong setting, it keeps the (dud) DPI value and uses the selected resizing algorithm to shrink the image, blurring pixels together. Use the right setting and all it does is change the DPI value. If I'm remembering correctly what the dialog looks like, there are slots to type in either DPI or image dimensions (in cm or inches).

Looks like it's been juggled about a bit since the last PhotoShop version I used — it's the "Resample" tickbox you need to check, this must be unticked to preserve the actual image pixels and change only the DPI setting. Note that when you enter a value in the Resolution box (same thing as DPI), the Width and Height values automagically change to follow it, so you can easily tell if the change you're about to make is going in the right direction.
