Questions about Old Daz Content

I am having trouble with several aspects of Daz. Can anybody help with any of the following:
1. When I try to save a CHARACTER PRESET of V4 I get a reading that says I need to select a TRI WEIGHTED MAPPED FIGURE. I do not know how to do this. Note: I can save Gen8 as a CHARACTER PRESET simply by selecting her in the SCENE tab, but this does not work for V4.
2. When I try to use old content (clothing mostly) on Gen3 or Gen8 I am informed that I've chosen an unsupported item and I should buy AUTO-FIT to convert the item to the figure, but when I click on the BUY AUTO-FIT link nothing comes up and I can't find AUTO-FIT at the DAZ STORE. How can I get old content to fit on Gen8?
3. I know there now is dForce (which seems to work some of the time for me) but I still like to use some old DYNAMIC CLOTHING on V4. My DYNAMIC CLOTHING pane works but in no longer has the GRAVITY and WIND options? How can I get those back and working?
I have other issues as well but these are the ones most pressing. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You don't have to buy Autofit. It's a part of Daz Studio. What you may have to buy is the apropriate Clone for the content if it's for anyone from the Millenium line. Daz Studio only supports Genesis clones for G3 and G8 natively. I suggest the Wear them All products:

Once you get them fit on Genesis 3, you can save as wearable preset and then autofit to Genesis 8 with little trouble.
I have to re-install some of my pre-genesis content to figure out your first issue, and I'm lost on the last since I hardly use the OptiTex stuff any more.
For the V4 issue, I think you're going to have to save it as separate Shaping Preset and Material presets, rather than all as one. V4 is not a Triax figure, and while you can make her one (and fairly easily at that) I don't think that's something you want to do. (among other things, I don't think you can add new morphs other than those you have installed at the time.)
Another option (and probably closer to what you want) would be to save V4 as a Scene Subset.
-In your shoes I would probably save V4 out as a scene file rather than an a preset, but there should also be a "Poser format exporter" in your scripts area that will allow you to save the character out as a the pz2 version of a chaping preset if that is useful.
-Try reinstalling the pro version of the Optitex plugin, then go to the folder where your DS plugins are stored and see if you have two .dll files with "opt" or "optitex" in the name. If more than one, delete the one whose name doesn't sound like it's the pro version.
-In DS 4.9-4.10 I've had trouble with Optitex clothing glitching out if you save it as part of a scene file before freezing the Optitex simulation. BTW, many of them work okay in DForce as long as you do all the DForce stuff before you hit "freeze simulation" on the Optitex side. Something I like to do when trying to wrangle Optitex stuff onto figures it's not meant for: a single frame Optitex drape to get rid of pokethrough and then do the animated drape in DForce.
Thank upi DaWaterRat amd Odaa. Very helpful. The Save as Scene" suggestion will work. I will experiment with your other links and suggestions. Again Thanks
For older non-weight mapped pre Genesis figures use Save As / Deprecated.
