Animating in I-clone - Rendering in Daz.

I love Daz and its iray technology but hate its animation, conversely I love Iclones Animation capabilities but hate it rendering result.

Questio:

Since the output of Iclone is basically images and images is what Daz Iray renders. Can I render Icones images from an animation scene in Daz?

Well, in either case the output of the render is 2D, whether animated or still. So you can't take an image generated by iClone and load it into DAZ Studio to be fixed up.

If your goal is to create the animation in iClone, then make screenshots of it using DAZ's more realistic renderer, you'd need the most expensive version of 3DXchange: Pipleline. You'd export all the scene elements as 3D models to be loaded into DS, and then use them to recreate your scene in DS for rendering. If you're doing the film as a professionsal work, going through all this may be worth it.

Last year Reallusion offered an add-on photorealistic rendering engine that might have got you what you wanted right from within iClone, but now it seems to have disappeared from their store. I don't know if this means the product was unpopular or didn't work right, or if the engine in new iClone 7.1 is so realistic no add-on renderer is needed anymore...

Wow, thanks a lot. I use indigo render as an add on but it wasnt giving me what I wanted. Actually I wanted to use reality inwhich is a plugin for Daz. I thought it might get me the look. Ill explore the steps you put out becasue I am making a film and it needs to look good. Is there a video that explains your steps?

    Thanks again.

yes its should work but its very expensive

wolf or wendy could tell more here i think

  • well you can only really export static objs to render in iray as DS does not FBX import iclone content or any content well

using Ascii instead of binary does bring in rigging and mesh but its all messed up horribly I have never found a fix

Honestly you would have more luck going to Blender and using Cycles or the new Eevee
