Hallo outfit iray textures not working

I'll admit, I do not really understand how iray works, I just know when it does I love it.  In buying the Hallo outfit I have not been able to get the textures to work.  Has anyone else had this problem?  They look fine in 3delight but in iray they fail.  Is there a work around?  I also tried some of my fabric and leather iray shaders on them but the shaders would not work that way either.  Here is the outfit on teen josie... I randomly picked a character, it would not be my choice of an outfit for that character.  The first is 3delight, the second iray.  I did a preview render also in iray and it still did not show up.

Not sure what you mean they are not working - do you mean the iray textures are not applying? The first image you have there is a screenshot of the preview not a 3delight render and often - especially wtih iray - textures will look slightly differnet in the actual render. Do you mean your iray render is not showing the red of the shirt and boots in the render? Cos it will look different in the preview to the final render.

The iray textures are not applying.  When viewed in the regular view you can see they are applied because it turns them red from the default color.  But when you go to iray view they look like the one with the blue background.  Here is my small preview render i made of them.  As you can see, the iray red textures are not showing up at all except for the red skirt.

  • Wild guess, turn off metallicity. That looks like reflections.

Ok I sort of fixed it by changing the pbr settings from glossiness to weighted. It's a lot shinier than the original was in the advert but at least it's not that dull pink color any more.  I have no idea how to reduce the shine.

  • Turn down glossy layered weight and/or topcoat.

I tried that.  It made the item white.  But I just discovered that if I alter the gloss color of the original 'glossiness' version I can get very close to the advertisement.  It's not a perfect solution but it will work for now.  Bonus is I also found out I can make them dark purple.  :)

Boy oh boy should that ever not be happening.

I'm just glad that I can use it.  I opened a ticket on it to let them know there is a problem but between my schedule and theirs it had not been resolved.  The real shame was I was trying to impress someone with how cool daz was and I had just bought the outfit so I tried to show it off.  They walked away saying that it looked like too much work, even though I showed them how a different clothing outfit worked.

  • That's too bad. :(

Oh I get what you are saying now - the whole outfit should have been red, right? I was thinking the pale pink/lilac/purple colour was meant to be there.

According to the readme, the only shaders are for the metal, which means you have to select those surfaces in the surface tab when you use them. But the rest are materials and should apply with the normal click. Is it only only happening with that one set of materials, or are all the options (black/brown/dusk/red) doing it?

I thought so.  They are artistic so I thought they would enjoy it.

Yes, their shaders worked but not like they should have.  Probably because the base colors were off.  At this point I'll just be happy to know when it's fixed.  I've not heard back from them yet.  My guess is it was built in poser and not set up right for daz.   I've bought other things from the seller at the other sales site and never had a problem so I know she/he makes quality stuff.  Just a little bug to work out.
