Two Pro Bundles in One Month!

They’re killing me.  Just saying. But seriously is this as unusual as I think it is? Is this how it’s going from now on?  If so I’m going to be forced to make some very hard choices.

  • If you're thinking Darius 8, he was released last month along with Monique 8.

Since Stephanie 8's arrival, they've been doing two per month, but that's only a 2 month streek so far.  Charlotte is late enough in the month that we may be getting only one in December, but early enough that a second release wouldn't surprise me.

  • Hmmm....seems like the Asians might be showing up soon.  I wonder if they'll stick with the same names, or go for new characters.

I think one will be called Sakura :)

Cady Hair for Genesis 3 & 8 Female(s) lists Sakura 8 in the supported shapes.  Looks like we are getting a Japanese character (or two) this go around.

  • Ok so I am not imagining a speed up in the release of bundles.  I really did not pay attention for the first year or so of buying them but when gen 8 came out I vowed to own all the bundles.  I can't do two a month though.  Not for the next few months at least.

Well I'll be buying at least the base character for Sakura at least. Sound sort of like Aiko 8 only with more an anime style.

I’m really hoping for a Gianni or Freak-style male.

I'm hoping for any male. ;)

  • I Agree on the need for Asian, freak-Gianni, and aiko. For myself I wish the Fatah that went out today was the new pro bundle instead of Charlotte. Charlotte is nice because she is more petite but she is just doesn’t excite me. The fatah has a more exaggerated figure.

  • I like Charlotte, though I can’t afford her right now. It’s about time we get a Japanese character, I just hope she’s designed better than mei Lin

    Same here.

  • As long as they keep her open the typical two weeks I will be getting her but I had to borrow money to get darius so....  Can't keep that pace up.

  • Just wanting to thank Daz for slowing down the pro bundles a little.  Gave me a chance to catch my breath.  I was starting to think I was going to have to skip them.

  • Really hope they do a nice realistic asian character soon.... Not a fan of the sakura but they would not fit the type of renders i make.

Yes, where are the Asians, the not manga ones?
OK Alexandra was nice, but she's also Caucasian.

And most of all - where are the MEN???

I have been mixing her in with other figures.  I do not think of her as a true asian figure.  There have been some mini releases of asian characters but I've been waiting for the pro bundle too.

I was glad they released the older figures, even if they put them out too close together.  (spoke too soon about them letting me catch my breath) There are not enough of those in general and the ones with really rugged skins were almost all of the gen 4 types.  Moving those morphs and skins forward is a chore as they require moving forward per part instead of as a group.  When done as a figure they lose something.  And of course we do not have anything that moves morphs to g8 yet.

You do realize that these are the first official 'mature' character pair we've had since the Aged M4 and V4 morph package that came out in something like 2010 or 2011?

Yes, admittedly Ivan was definitely a mature character, all by himself, and a lot of the G3 bases looked a *bit* older than their previous iterations. But DAZ has mostly been letting Zev0 and a number of PAs fill that niche for them ever since Genesis launched. These are the first official bases that seem to be designed to cover the 40-60 age group, Which is you are creating anything other than pin-ups you will rapidly find that you need.

No Ivan and Rune were both mature figures.

I'm not sure that I can see Rune as being particularly more mature than the other adult females in her generation. As an example, the close-up head shot in her promo images make her look like she might -- might! -- be in her mid thirties, whereas Ivan was designed to be somewhere in his 50s. Even if she was meant to be older than the other females of her generation to date, Rune didn't look to be anywhere near Ivan's age.

Pure speculation, of course, but maybe they tried to play fast and loose with Rune's age because they weren't sure how the market would react to an older character. Since they're accustomed to male characters selling less, they may have felt that they could try more options to see what worked. So Ivan was the older brawny guy, Leo and Dante tended to varying midpoints of stylized vs realistic, Elijah was the tall skinny drink of water, etc.

In any event, this is probably the first time Daz has been unambiguous about a main line female character being meant to be older.

I think they also were also supposed to be Russian. I think sometimes bundle content makers  doesn't follow the theme as suggested. Rune seemed a typical female warrior with a small wrinkle around her eyes.

I think Ophelia was supposed to be more mature than the "Daz Average". But she's more a MILF type than an older aunt/grandmotherly type ;)

Wow. No I did not realize that. I had decided if the next pro bundle was another teen I was going to pass on it. The Ollie addition today is super fun.

I felt they were “mature” but not old. I’d love to see something in the eighty to one hundred range.

Tune looked forties to me by “Hollywood” standards. Seems that is what we base everything around now. I happen to have been fifty when I had my profile pic taken but I consider myself to gave very young genes. The last five years have not been kept nd but I still look younger.  I’m saying that to say that rune could believably be in her forties. But not fifties for any but the very rare person.

I’m doing these posts from my phone so please forgive the multiple posting.  It’s difficult to post on several quotes from here. Or to comment on several things from one quote even.

Ilove your description of Elijah. Made me laugh. An accurate description but I bought it because he looks like my husbands youngest son. Not how I want to view a stepson, even if he is in his twenties.

Totally agree. I honestly thought that most of the characters were fan based take offs on famous movie characters. Not identical but definitely inspired by favorite shows.

I bought her because I thought she would look older but I rarely use her. Kinda sad.  She is a nice character. I think like you said too milf for what I wanted her for.
