DOes anyone have UHT Hair Shaders for Iray?

Wondering if anyone has Sloshwerks "UHT Hair Shaders for Iray" and if it was worth getting.  I think alot of there stuff is pretty cool but  just not sure how this one stands up so I thought I'd ask... Thanks as always, Mickey.

I have it. I personally prefer the oot hair shaders from rendo.

I use UHT (usually UHT2) when I want normal-person hair. I use oot when I want glossy/model/moviestar hair.

  • I use UHT2 almost all the time. I have OOT Pair Hair and like it for longer hair if that makes any sense. But my current preference is UHT2 with PhilW's Hair Lustre thrown in.

Yes, I have it and use it all the time, easy to use and has a keep original textures function which is really handy for some of the old V4 hair with amazing textures.

I have both UHT and UHT2, I use UHT2 on almost every hair, I really like the way you can blend different colors together. It makes the hair look much better to me,

Both are UHT and OOT are great systems and I use them both, though I leaned towards OOT's UNTIL the third major contender arrived in the DAZ store: PhilW's Hair Lustre Shaders https://www.daz3d.com/hair-lustre-shaders-for-iray ; In my experience Hair Lustre is the best of the three for getting that natural "backlit" hair look, and it has the bonus of producing pretty much the same effect/color on any type of hair, from transmapped hair and eyelashed to fiber and LAMH, which makes it perfect for getting all the various bits of head and body hair to match, whereas with either of the first two options I had to use the fiber shaders from Mec4D's Unshaven 2 https://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-unshaven-2-for-genesis-2-male-s and then do a lot of tweaking to get a decent match.

  • I use UHT2 on every render I do with very few exceptions. Both are excellent, and UHT2 is VERY versatile. You can add your own colors and masks to it and the script to blend will pick them up automatically. Draagonstorm was a genius coder, and sorely missed :(

The other hair shaders available are nice for that model in a magazine look, but I prefer UHT2 and the Fantasy addon for realistic results. And if you like the supermodel shine, Slosh added several higher shine options after the store page and promos were done.

...UHT2 is also nice if you use older hair in Iray that was originally created just for 3DL as it has presets for transparency.  I use it a lot as there is older hair content I still like.

Also the customisation features are very useful.  I was able to actually create true albino hair as all other "white" hair shaders still tend to have some grey or platinum in them. Pure albino hair is devoid of any pigmentation.
