Adding markings, colors and textures to .OBJ models for DAZ rendering.

So, I have a bunch of starship desogns, mostly Trek, in .OBJ format that I've designed for printing over the years. I"d love to import them into DAZ Studio for some fun battle and beauty scenes to add to their sale pages, promos, etc. The thing is, I'm clueless about how to go about adding textures, colors, and markings to them. Is there a tutorial to that effect somewhere? I do have Hexagon, of that helps, though I've only played with it briefly. Right now, they're just CAD files with no texturing or any kind, just meant for printing.
Many thanks,
Bob

You will need to UVMap them first so they can take a texture. Basically you are defining where a certain part of a texture will be applied to a certain part of the mesh and how. There are several types of mapping and no idea if/how hexagon handles it. There are many apps that do mapping, so you could google UVmapping and try one that works for you. Once it is UVmapped, then import it into DS and apply the textures to the material zones.
