Compatible Software??????????

On the page for each product at DAZ3D there is a "compatible software" description, and it inevitable says DAZ Studio 4.10 (or whatever version of Studio is current at the moment). That is deceptive. It's not honest, and it's not helpful. Each product does not work in just one version of DAZ Studio. Some products work in multiple versions of different software. DAZ, please please please list the actual software each product works in. You know the information, you're doing a real disservise to your customers by hiding it. Just print it on the item page. Choosing compatible products is confusing enough without being given fake information.

It has ALWAYS listed the most recent version of Daz Studio, as it is the version available for a new customer to download.
And it's not reasonable to expect them to provide tech support for multiple versions of the software forever.
I know it's always been done this way. It's useless. They can list the latest version of Studio FIRST then the other versions, then the other software programs.
I'm not asking them to provide tech support for software, I'm asking for a list of compatible software.
How is that deceptive or dishonest??????? The majority of items in the store work natively in DS and since they only support the latest version it is what is listed, I am not seeing the issue. Granted you can get things to import and kinda work in a ton of other apps, but not natively and this opens a whole other can of worms with support if that app is listed. If you are referring to poser, if it doesn't work 100% natively in poser it shouldn't be listed and if the product comes with only Iray materials, then it isn't fully compatible with poser.
I can render any item in the store in 3DSMax, Maya, blender, Rhino, Lightwave, Modo, C4D, etc because of .obj import, doesn't mean it is compatible with those apps.
While I agree with you that it would be nice if they indicated that you MUST have a version of Studio of a particular release and/or features in order for the product to function completely, whether it be the latest version or an older one, I don't think it is something we'll ever convince them to do. It would require going through their entire catalog and testing eac product against several of the most recent versions. Perhaps going forward they might do that for new product but don't hold your breath. I've tried to think of a way that they could generalize the compatibility notice but can't without it turning into a long paragraph listing versions, features and add-ons.
Unfortunately the worldwide model for software support these days is heavily weighted toward; "Use our latest and greatest, the designers who created our old stuff are probably no longer with us and nobody wrote any documentation."
Requiring the latest version (and asking people to use the default set-up), helps to ensure that there are no crossed-wires, installation errors, or version incompatibilities to hamper efforts at support.
Works in, rather than Compatible, sounds more along the lines of what you want, since listing all the versions as "Compatible" would imply to a lot of folks that DAZ would support using items in them, which may not be the case.
