Sharing daz model
in The Commons
Hello
i create a human model with daz to use it with other softwares to get a real and right scale.
can i share this model to help other users ?

Comments
There are specific ways in which you can share as you can't share the models themselves, but if it is only to get the right scale for other software, Daz builds those things into their export windows. What software are you trying to export to?
thanks
i will use it with maxwell render and i ask if i can share it with other maxwell render users ?
Most renders are fine to share.
thanks for reply ; i think you don't understand my question.
the model i created with daz and i export it as obj ; can i share this 3d model to anyone who want use it ?
my goal is to use the model (with height 1.78 m) as a reference for scale when create house or trees or interior design
so Daz allow to share the model for public use or not ? because someone told me :
"Are you sure you are allowed to distribute this model? As far as I know any model in Daz is their property."
If the figure is a Daz character then, no, I don't think you're allowed to share the figure as an OBJ.
thanks : the model created with : Genesis 8 Male Dev Load
so even i convert it to a single object and remesh it and remove all textures ?
No, you can't share it. You'd essentially be re-distributing the DAZ figure geometry, which isn't allowed per the EULA.
If you remesh it and remove the textures, I'm not sure if you're allowed to share it as an OBJ or not. You might have to put in a support ticket and ask: https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us
thank you ; so i will work with makehuman
That's probably a good idea.
I wish you luck with it. :) It sounds like a good project and something that can be helpful to others. :)
thank you yes i did that and i wait their response but now i use makehuman to avoid any problem
there is no way that you are allowed to share the mesh, or any derivative of the mesh (geometry) of any product purchased from the Daz Store. THis is set out quite clearly in the EULA,
edited to correct typo
You did not create that model, you clicked a button and the model that was created by Daz3D loaded onto your computer, and then you moved some sliders around to adjust morphs, again created by Daz3D. You don't own it. you are an end user, you can't share it.
thanks ; i will create my own model ;)
