Sale Final Weekend ??

    What? This PA sale has gone way over. By this time last year we were well into the first week of the PC+ sale.

    Yeah - they have to change to a new kind of sale so those of us who have sale-fatigue get all excited again wink

    Don't worrry - the PC+ Sale should be awesome, and the Christmas Sale (or "Holiday Sale" or whatever they call it) will be non too shabby either.

    ...the PC+ Sale is for PC+ members.  I believe as an incentive to join they also open the PC catalogue to non members as well as have discounts on memberships.

    The Holiday sale is a general seasonal themed sale, which also (I believe they still do it) includes special daily freebies by various PAs without needing to make a purchase or be a PC+ member.  It also included different sale formats than just straight discounts.  The last couple years they had a "points" deal where if you bought so many tagged items. you gained points that would translate into discounts (usually 5% x each point).

    One never really knows what exactly they'll do for each sale, but we get ideas of what they MIGHT do from past years' sales. The PC+ sale last year was really good, imo. They had Build Your Own Bundles in which you picked out 8 items of your choice (from a few pages of choice) and the price was $3 for the whole bundle. I bought a TON of stuff last year as, at that price, it comes up to like .37 cents each product. lol The product chioces for the BYOB where all older items, but most of them are pretty easy to convert to Iray. :)

    I really hope they bring back the BYOB - that was SO FUN! :)

    Sounds awesome! I've been spending too much lately!! I thought I was done.. but just now I've gotten a second wind and filled my cart again. Now I'm staring at it wondering if I should or not...

    Personally if I waver too much, it means I don't really want it enough and usually dump the cart. :) There's always another sale. lol And yeah, if the PC+ sale is anything like last year you're going to want to save up for it. It was my favorite sale since I started buying 3D content about a year and a half ago. :)

    ...yeah, thoroughly loved the film and the character.  There were times in the story where she had her "goofy" moments, and that is what (for myself at least), gave her such an enduring and more believable personality.

    Also the reason why I used the particular pic of her for my icon.

    Actually got her down pretty well, however I also now have both Star 2 so may try another go at her. That hair is still problematic and the best I could find was 3Dream/Mairy's Bolina Hair.  Had to use two instances to get the thickness to look right.  Was working with Garabaldi to create it since both the Pixar programme and GE use a strand based hair system. but it would probably cause a meltdown of my system in Iray as I'd have to import it as a .obj.

    Here's the pic of her with Bolina hair.  Oddly I didn't use one toon based character to create her.  The primary foundation was Julie5.

    Daww! That's so cute! :D And it's pretty impressive you got that look without a toon character. :)

    Should be next week (possibly Monday (tomorrow?) as it starts right after the PA sale ends and lasts about a month.

    Daww! That's so cute! :D And it's pretty impressive you got that look without a toon character. :)

    ..thank you.  Involved a tonne of morphing as well as shaping to get the rounder head.  Somewhere I actually have a texture of her dress from the film for the MFD.
