Well, if she looks good, here you all go. Have fun.

Thinned the nose a bit as per Toobis' request.

The hair helps sell the look too. Can we ask which hair you used?

Thanks to all of you. The scene is shaping up great, FirstBastion. :)

The hair I used was Brooke Hair, and the skin texture is Veronica, though I tweaked the materials. The final render was in Lux and I don't have the scene file saved so I can't give any settings on that or the lights. There was definitely some IBL from one of DimensionTheory's HDR sets.

MeatHead_2010, I'm not sure where you messaged me, but I didn't receive it. To get the files to work in DS 4.5, I personally would put them somewhere in in "My Library/People/Victoria 4/Characters". Sorry, since this was just intended to fulfill a quick request, I really didn't set up a file structure, but to get it to work in DS, you can basically place it anywhere in an existing DAZ Studio content folder.

If you want to use a Poser mapped runtime, you'd place it somewhere within the "Runtime/Libraries/Pose" folder.

I put the file in My Library, and it was easy to browse to it. It works fine in Studio 4.5. Tomorrow I'll try converting it with GenX and see how it works out. I need to get to bed right now, I've been up too late playing with Studio.

You could probably make a decent Lara with some dial mixing. Id dial a tiny bit of The Girl 4s head in to Genesis, she is a bit original Lara croft-ish

I'm not sure what point of the process you're at, so I'll just post a step-by-step walkthrough.

1: Go here and download the zip package.
2: Unzip it. There should be three files inside, a .png, a .pz2, and a .dsa, named Lara.
3: Move those files to your My Library folder.
4: A file called Lara should show up when you navigate to "DAZ Studio Content > My Library" in your content. If V4 with morphs is loaded, this will dial in the Lara face shape.

Here's a quick render of Lara converted to Genesis. The hair is Pure Hair Wild, the skin is the lighter one from Mimi.

Actually, if I recall, didn't the original Girl have a Lara Croft-style outfit even?

Lara Croft, our Lady of Infinite Gunfire, wearer of the Divine Ponytail, has brown eyes.   If you don't believe that then fire up your copy of Tombraider (1996) and see for yourself!   Angelina Jolie has gray/green/hazel eyes.   See Angel of Darkness (game of course) for a somewhat newer look.  I wonder what Toby Gard would think of all this, all these years later?  :o)

The Gen 3 type  Girl does have a similar outfit.  Should still be in the store.  Ah, here it is, G. I. Girl:  http://www.daz3d.com/g-i-girl

There is one by Pretty3D over at rendo that covers the POST CORE Design style of outfit.  Everything after CORE is a sports game.  Bleah.

    The following to any:

    Do you know her birthday?

Do you know her butlers name (in the GAME)?

Do you know the brand of her boots?

Do you know her signature move most revered by her fans (CORE games)?

WhenI saw this thread, I completely forgot that I had ever posted in it before; now I'm wondering how many other things I've forgotten since then.  I think I may have to try doing a G2F version, now that I remember having this morph.

  • Oh that would be cool, riftwitch!

Just FYI, both your links are for Brooke hair.

  • FTI - ALI has a hair set that looks much like early Tombraider ponytails.  Sometimes Lara's hair would be braided, sometimes not.   It is HR-135:  https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/hr-135/106614/

It's cheaper from the developers site and I also like Hr-046

  • I bought HR=021 years ago, before 046 actually came out.  I realized even then ALI would be a force to be reckoned with in the realm of HAIR!   I like using his sets because they don't bog the system down, they look good, and most all of them have plenty of useful morphs.  Oh, and even at full price are still just half what others ask for theirs.  I don't have all his props, but I have a bunch, and I like them!   I actually stumbled into his store looking for a hair for a Lara Croft character I was trying to create with V4.  I like all the face morphs I've seen in here much better than my own attempts.  Though creating body morphs is easy when you have all the V4 morphs DAZ sells.  It's rather fun spinning dials in the Body and seeing what all you can get from it!   Since we are both looking around in Ali's site, what other hair sets do you see that look like a Lara to you?  For Lara characters, I like using HR-021, 043, 045 and occasionally HR-098 for the mussed look.  Also, Venom hair is a good one for the French Braid style ponytail.  This conversation has me thinking that Ali, maybe more than others, actually created several hair sets with Tombraider in mind.  Heh!  Well, lets have fun making our Lara scenes!
