Problem applying textures

OK, so I imported an LWO file into Bryce (not very good at using it), then I exported it as an OBJ.  Then, I imported the OBJ into DAZ3D.  The textures did not come over, but I have them in a folder.  When I try to apply the texture images (JPG) to the diffuse bar in the Surfaces tab, they are not aplying.  I've never had this happen before.  Anyone know what's wrong?

Also, If any one can tell me how to get an LWO file into DAZ another way, that would be helpful.  I only have Poser Debut, Daz, Bryce 7.1 and Blender (which I don't know how to use and gave up on).   I really want to bring this Blade Runner spinner into Daz but it;s only in LWO and C4D formats.

Carrara works with .LWO files and has been on sale lately. I use Ultimate Unwrap 3d for most of my file conversions.

I'm not looking to spend more money.  I have the textures.  These should apply to the surfaces.  I need to know why they aren't.  I don't know how to apply surfaces in Bryce.

Perhaps try applying a Daz shader to the OBJ first and see if that helps?

I applied the IRAY Uber Shader to it.  I've imported other obj files and I've never had this happen before.  It does't make since to me.

I'm not a UV mapping expert so probably don't know what I'm talking about, but is it possible the UV mapping didn't survive the import conversion, and blank parts of your image texture by the margin or elsewhere in the image are now being applied instead of the part of the image that actually has the mapped texture?  You can test that theory by temporarily just applying say a solid bright red image instead of what's supposed to be there, see if that's even showing up at all.

When you say the textures aren't applying in the surfaces tab, do you mean that you can see your texture image thumbnail in the surfaces tab but it doesn't render that way, or do you mean that you can't even get the image to show up as a thumbnail in the diffuse parameter?

Is it possible you have two copies of the object in the same spot and thus can't see changes made to one of them because the other is in the way?

Perhaps a screenshot of your surface tab might reveal a clue to us.

In the screenshot, I've applied the texture to the back panel.  Instead of the texture showing, it just darkens the panel.

Poser should import the lwo too

check the surface in DAZ studio’s UV view to see if it is mapped if not it will be a dot.

otherwise also it it might also have reversed normals which can be fixed with a shader that renders both sides

If it's the one from SciFi3d.com,the UVmapping is all out of whack probably due to the conversion. In your image you have the texture applied but you also still have the blue color in the slot which is part of the reason why it's that dark. You are going to have to settle for colors only unless you can UV map it again like in my after image in a modeling app. Here is a before and after image of the UVMapping as I see it.

I only have Poser Debut right now and I don't see an option to import lwo.  I'm going to pick up Poser 11 eventually.

Yes it came from SciFi3D.com.  I don't have modeling skills, so I guess I'm stuck with what I have for now.
