where is the d-former field?!?!

Added a little primitive to my scene and I wanted to edit it using a d-morpher but for some reason I can't get the d-former field to appear anywhere on it??! any ideas? pic of it included.

...go to the Scene Tab and expand the Dformer listing (cliking on the little arrowhead). Then clik on the DFormer Field selection and it will appear in the viewport

I think your plane needs more  Divisions so there is something to deform - i can get a field with 100 but not with 1

agreed. you need more than 4 vertices to deform it. Subd it and see if that helps

dGorms require real geometry, not virtual from SubD.

I think you're mixing terminology, the Field is there — it's the "three-way circle" made of thin red lines surrounding the D-Former base and "mushroom". If you mean the coloured dots, that's the Weight Display, and you only see the dots where mesh lines meet at vertices. Check the mesh divisions of the plane; if there's no mesh, there's no dots.

Sorry to reply late. I am not sure how to rectify this can anyone give me some more info on how to do this? preferbly with some screenshots as I learn better by example. Thankyou.

  • Make a plane with more divisions and try again.

    what do you mean divisions?!

  • When you make a primitive plane do you not get settings?
  • ToobisToobis Posts: 990

yeh I thought everything had settings on the right I mean you are being too vague what do you mean??!?!

When you make your plane in studio  - you can set the divisions (see attached)

  • Yeah, "when you make" is kind of important here.

Ohh okkkkkk gottit. So basically as long as its not 0 in divisions.

You would need at least 4 Divisions (as FNCDesigns stated earlier)
