Do you know how to make not crossing objects?

Hi everyone:

Maybe this question is a Daz low level, but, would you tell me, please, if is there any way for making not crossing characters and objets? Is it possible to make not crossing surfaces for avoiding fingers, hands, etc go into the bodies, for example?

If I want to slide an object over another one, could I prevent first object passing through second...? As a violin bow over a string, etc.

Thank you very much.

  • Not really. The Smoothing Modifier does have colision detection, and will move the surface out of the way of the colliding item - that might be useful for the strings on the violin.

Thanks, Richard. I have to learn a lot about your suggest. What's Smoothing Modifier? :-)

  • Edit>Figure>Geometry>Apply Smoothign Modifier. After adding the modifier there will be a new group in the Parameters pane, Mesh Smoothing, which allows you to control smoothing (adjusting the model to smooth it out, as the name imples - not the same as SubD, it isn't adding more resolution just adjusting what is there - and also allows you to set a single collision target which the mesh will deform to avoid.
