Stephanie 8

I don't know if this has been posted, but it looks like you guys have been listened to.

I'm looking forward to seeing how she turns out. But right now, I (still) only want Lilith.

Nice to see her making a comeback! I really hope she's still petite. Love the tall gals, but variety is good!

  • going off of daz history it will be so little difference in it and V8 it  will essentially be a petite version but  who knows maybe they surprise us

  • Yay, Stephanie! <3

Stephanie 6 was one of my all-time favorite characters and one I used in a ton of character builds for reference. I really missed her during the Genesis 3 era (even if I could import the shape, it just wasn't the same, yanno?), so she might be the first Genesis 8 character I buy.

    I hope for a surprise, not a V8 fan.

Cool. Love Steph 6, hopefully daz will do her justice with an 8 version. Also hoping she doesn't look like a sister of Victoria.

Except the thing is, that's what Stephanie's role always was, being the sister figure to Victoria...

Well, technically, she didn't start out that way. The original Stephanie was a female morph of Michael and was considered just another adult female (on who original Aiko was based IIRC). It wasn't until maybe Stephanie Petite 3 that she was considered a younger adult, and with Stephanie 4 was more or less considered "Vicky's little sis". I would prefer that she stay a somewhat younger adult, or at least a female that's a more normal height....lol.

Right, but from what I was told, she was a morph for Michael because people wanted a less "stocky" alternative to Victoria.

I don't think "stocky" is the word you were looking for,

    stocky
    adjective
adjective: stocky; comparative adjective: stockier; superlative adjective: stockiest
    broad and sturdily built.
"he had a short, stocky body"
    synonyms:
thickset, heavily built, sturdy, sturdily built, heavyset, bull-necked, chunky, solid, dumpy, stubby, stumpy, squat; More
  • I used the hell out of SP4's proportion morphs on V4.  She was an essential part of my dial-spun serial characters.  But I've never had the same need for Stephanie in the Genesis series (plus I was still using Gen 4 in Poser until Iray and the tail end of G2).  I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Stephanie 8, as I had such an attachment to SP4.  Hopefully she isn't too young, and hopefully her skintone is improved over the overly fake-n-bake look S6 had (IMHO).

Original Stephanie wasn't really less stocky. She and Vicky wore the same clothes IIRC :) To be entirely honest I don't remember for sure....it was the better part of 20 years ago and I have trouble remembering what I had for lunch earlier today. LOL

That was my recollection, too - different default face and different UVs, tweaked in the light of their experience with Michael, I think but same basic shape and rigging.

  • Can't wait, I like her face, hopefully they will keep the younger adult look she has going..

Does Stephanie 8 have her own UVs or is she able to use the G8/G3 materials?

I don't have her, but I believe that all the new G8 figures have the base figure UV. I think they're doing away with different UVs for each figure. I know V8 doesn't have her own UV.

Maybe someone with S8 can confirm though. :)

  • Base UV.

Good. If gen4 could make do with only 3 UV sets, and gen3 not significantly more than that -- even though each figure was a separate figure, not an acknowledged morph of a base -- why the *hell* did Genesis need a separate UV for every base figure?
