It's hard to wrap my head around.

  • Happy Birthday to them :)

And yes, kids have a habit of growing up.  My own son's 7 and continues to amaze me with what he's capable of.

Happy Birthday to them! (Blink twice and they will be 19 - time flies!)

The last year was sentimentally hard, because they've so thoroughly closed the chapter on toddler and waddler years.

  • Time does fly!  I'm constantly shocked by the fact that I have two grown children.  Its crazy!

    Happy Birthday to them both!

Congratulations!    My turn 22 very soon, and I never got used to 10.

  • I've always thought that getting them past two was a major achievement.  Nine is definitely something to be proud of. Congratulations!

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Happy birthday to them! My four are 28, 27, 24 and 14, and it's a bit of a wrench watching the youngest going through her last years at school knowing she'll be all grown up soon too. Having said that, I've just been in to see my friend and her new baby and am kind of glad to be past all that chaos. Probably because I know I couldn't revisit it if I wanted to now. I expect seeing him would have left me brooding like crazy if things were different :)

It's astonishing how many more twins there seem to be around now than there ever used to be. The twins in my school year at the end of the seventies were regarded as a bit of a novelty, yet in my tiny circle of Facebook friends (less than thirty last time I looked), there are five sets of twins and two unrelated parents of twins, all conceived naturally. I expect that medical advances and modern living mean that such pregnancies are more likely to thrive, and the premature babies that are often a result of them are more likely to survive. It would be nice to think so, anyway.

  • LOL... They certainly don't look like twins now, height wise. But then boys and girls grow at different rates.

He has Jotun genes or something.

And in our case, not a natural thing; we had tried for children for a good 8 years, went with a surrogate (wife's cousin, bless her) and in vitro (children are genetically ours).

Wife also had cancer during much of this (she's fine now) so it was basically down to the wire and two embryos: 25% chance of twins, 50% chance of a single child, and 25% chance of... consolation trip to Hawaii.

    And twins it were!

    Awwww....cute :)

I remember when my kids were 9 and I could hug and kiss 'em still and they didn't act like I had cooties...lol. They're a little old for that now...31 and 34. Seems like yesterday they were just little. Savor every minute-time goes by so fast :)

  • Last year was devestating to me, lol. All of the sudden my adorable chubby toddle was taller than me. That's when I knew those days were gone and I now have a .... gasp .... a teen. Enjoy the ride, man, enjoy the ride.

Congratulations, Dad! :D It's hard to believe they're twins. The boy looks at least 3 years older. lol Good thing though, he gets to protect his "little sister". :)
