I have Daz 8 on my computer and wanted to know if I could also have 2 or 3 installed at the same time? If yes then is there anything special I need to know to accomplish this?

How did you hpget Daz Studio 8? I still use 4.9. I am confused.
Yes, you can have Daz Studio 2 and DAZ Studio 3 installed at the same time as Daz Studio 4. But you should have only one version of DAZ Studio 4 installed; although you can have a DAZ Studio 4 beta version installed at the same time as a regular version of DAZ Studio 4.
And if your computer can handle it you can have all versions of Genesis in one scene.
..that's what I have: 2.3, 3.1, 4.8, and the 4.9.3.166 beta. I might even install 1.8 just for kicks.
Actually, if you can get them both installed, you can run them. The trick is to install the 2nd without overwriting the first. Because it will overwrite the existing copy by default.
I have 4.9.2.70 and 4.9.4.1117 both installed, and I have managed to briefly run them both at the same time. (Did not push my luck. But one was tied up in a render, and I was able to launch the 2nd and modify a file while the other was running.)
iirc, The trick was to install one of them into a subfolder inside my Applications folder, and the other in the Applications folder itself -- and then move it into the subfolder, which I use for 3D applications.
Or, it's possible I pulled the one out of the Aplications folder while installing the other. But I don't think so.
What JOdel said: you can run two versions of DAZ Studio 4, just make sure that when running the installer you don't use the default folder for your second (third, fourth, 100th) installation and specify a custom one. It will ask you where to install and you could for example make an extra folder in your Program files called DAZ4.911 and install it there.
I only have beta and normal installed, but frequently have two or more instances of studio running

I have all four major versions (and several of the minor versions of 3 and 4), but I only have 3.1 and 4.9 installed. I was so unimpressed with version 1 that I completely ignored 2; I only have it because it was included on the DVD that came with a book, Figures, Characters and Avatars.
I think it is possible to run more than one instance of studio at a time but unless one has a super computer it is not practical.
This is a good subject one I can chime in on.
I use daz studio just for animation, I have 4 different versions of studio on my system and I can and have run any 3 of them at the same time for rendering & scene building, I render regularlly with 4.9 and build scenes at the same time with daz 4.8
I am currently working on a Halloween animation and I have 4.6 32 byte version running so I can have working version of lipsync to make my scene . and i use 4.9 for rendering the scenes, while I am building a new scenes with 4.6 . I'm almost done with this animations So I'll be posting it soon . to make this work will depend mostly how you have your computer configured I have mine set up sort of like a render farm server with external GPU's and 64 gigs of system ram
but any way heres a couple of captures one of of my 64 byte drive folder with my all copies of daz studios 64 byte versions. and I capture of 4.9 rendering while I am setting up the next scene with Daz 4.6 32 byte version.. it just saves me a ton time to work this way.
so yes you can have more than one copy of daz studio on your computer, and yes if you have a big enough system you can run them all . I do it all the time
Probably still doesn't have soft body, physics and dynamic cloth and hair but I bet it's up to Genesus 156 by then.
...but it would have a "Make Art" feature via DNI that you just plug into your head.
LOL not Genesis 8, my bad typing as I was talking about Daz 4.8, sorry for any confusion. Thanks guys for the information.
I do not want to run both programs at the same time. I remembered using D2 and D3 and saving files without needing extra scripts or steps, so thought I would use them for that.
I don't believe in limiting my customer base by making things that only work in Daz or only in Poser, and I was able to save things to work in both, but for some reason the CPM script is giving me a headache. It saves the files and show up in the program, but I can't get them to work after I save them.
I also have a prop I am working on for a Christmas freebie but so far running into walls on how to save it so it works in both programs.
I know I am missing something, just haven't figured out what yet, so I latched onto the D2 and D3 idea. I have heard and as several of you have mentioned here, you can use more then one Daz on a computer, now I just have to figure out how to do that and have everything work smoothly.
